  1. Incredible detailing on the engine and the cabling looks spot on πŸ‘
  2. Excellent detailing there especially on the engine and turret. Coming along very nicely πŸ‘
  3. Good start and at least you're now up and running. On the subject of reference pics not sure if you use https://www.worldwarphotos.info/ but I find it rather useful. The '251' galleries may be of interest: https://www.worldwarphotos.info/gallery/germany/halftracks/sdkfz-251/ https://www.worldwarphotos.info/gallery/germany/halftracks/sd_kfz-251/
  4. Many thanks for the comments Ed. Very much appreciated. Lots more stowage to come as these things were often covered in the stuff during winter πŸ‘ Many thanks Darryl very much appreciated. I love looking at reference photos....it helps bring a connection between the model you're making with the historical past in some small way. Especially those photos where you see the expressions on soldiers' faces (like the one in the previous post)....adds a real human element. Thanks again
  5. Superb job πŸ‘ Looks fantastic and as has been mentioned it has a very heavy realistic feel to it. Great pair of modelsπŸ‘
  6. Unusual and very well done πŸ‘ Could work well in a diorama with soldiers resting & listening to records.
  7. Interesting background information and thanks for sharing. Great job with the winter wash and I particularly like the tracks πŸ‘
  8. Very smart indeed πŸ‘ Nice to see an unusual subject πŸ‘
  9. A bit more time at the bench this weekend. The racks containing the mines have been attached to the lower hull sides. Crews would often remove the mines due to the risk of explosion when under fire. I have therefore left one side empty: Empty rack on this reference photo: The stowage has been glued to the rear deck. Fit was quite nice though needed some green putty to seal any gaps: I was originally intending to fit the resin tarp after painting but given how closely incorporated around the machine gun mount it is I've decided to fit now. There were also gaps between the resin and the superstructure mounts which needed filling. Fingers crossed painting won't be too much of a faff: There is a deliberate gap to allow the machine gun to traverse: I'm going to leave the front side skirts off so have drilled some holes as to where they would have been bolted on: You can just about see them in this reference photo: Tools added: Jerry can added to the rear: Current state of play: Next step is painting the inside of the upper hull so I can then look at bringing the two halves together and finishing construction. Thanks for looking and hopefully some more progress soon.
  10. Unusual. I like its boxy, soviet shape. Very well done πŸ‘
  11. Looking great and very nice job with the painting πŸ‘
  12. I know the feeling and all too true! Coming along really nicely and you've done a great job getting that engine to fit just right πŸ‘
  13. Love the heavy chipping and wear & tear. The roadsign really sets it it off too...spot on πŸ‘
  14. Fantastic detailing and craftmanship on this πŸ‘ Look forward to seeing them develop πŸ‘
  15. The lead vehicle is a White or Autocar tractor coupled to a 2,000 gallon (7,600 litre) tanker semi-trailer. The vehicle following is the very similar looking Federal 94X43.
  16. Very nice indeed πŸ‘ Love the stowage extras and painting is superb πŸ‘
  17. Very nice work on the interior though I don't envy you all that etch!
  18. It's quite subtle but it possibly looks like the centre pairs of wheels may turn less than the front and back pair...it does seem to make sense so steering isn't as severe?
  19. You've been busy! Looks fantastic and a superb job all round. Love all the details and the darkish tones in the paintwork have come out very well indeed πŸ‘
  20. Superb job. Excellent subtle weathering and very well painted πŸ‘
  21. While the interior section starts to get painted I have made some progress with detailing on the upper section of the hull. (The two halves haven't been glued yet). Handles on the upper sides have been replaced with photoetch and some weld seams applied. Not the neatest work but hopefully will look a little better once painted. There will also be plenty of stowage in this area. Upper hatches glued and handles replaced with copper wire: Driver and Co-driver front hatches. I think I will have these in open position so will be painted and glued after: Photoetch light guards placed with tube for stowing the lights on the side with chain:
  22. Great start and the kit looks to be very nice indeed. Will be interesting to see how this comes together as I love the look of the WW1 armour they do.
  23. That's looking very nice indeed. Super job with the interior too. My reference book has the person next to the driver simply as 'co-driver'.... as Bob says above someone simply to moan about the drivingπŸ˜‚ Are you having the hatches open?
  24. Stunning. Beautiful work πŸ‘
  25. Great start and looks to be a very nicely detailed kit πŸ‘ I like the variation in the tyres...makes for an unusual look. Is there any basis for the radial tyres? Is it to do with steering or ride comfort? I see the box art has them on the centre axles?
