Sorry, no update last night as I had a lovely drive to Manchester Airport and back to pick up the son and heir in Dad's Taxi, normal service will be resumed this evening. Couple of interesting new additions today!

Oh, I don’t doubt that she’s put it in the bank for a rainy day.-

That’s a nice sheen. I think it works very well for the scale. This one will be in the gallery soon!

Looking great. And personally I think there’s a lot to be said for a gap amidships.

Day 17 roundup...
Two flying things and a floating thing added to the Build List today (or rather, yesterday, as I've just tipped over into tomorrow) - a pair of Hornets from @Cammer625 and @stevej60 (best up your game, @2996 Victor, he's gaining on you!) And from @Tomcat101, what promises to be a standout "concept" build of the Bismarck - look in on his WIP for an explanation, he tells it better than I could.
The Build List continues to grow and grow... today's numbers are:
143 builds
103 underway
7 finished
I'm giving away a few maritime-themed kits if anybody fancies throwing them at the GB - see pinned thread "Salty freebies anyone?"
Right, I'm off to bed.
Cheers all
Tony

That's the full extent of the stash, @Bertie McBoatface apart from a 1/72 Lanc out of shot (that might eventually find itself upgraded to a 1/48). Today was the day the stash broke cover. I've given the spare room a good clear out and tidy this evening, and the accumulation of Spit kits that has been, er, smuggled into the flat and, um, hidden in boxes emerged blinking into the light as I arrayed them on their new shelves.
I took a deep breath as Queen Mary got home, entered the spare room, surveyed the tower of boxes, shrugged and came out again without saying a word.

I can't help but wonder how many you have already built and how many more are on your mental to-do list?

I'm sure the first one, at least, will go through.
Wouldn’t that be nice?

But they are all aeroplanes.
I also have a sheet of paper that you could skilfully fashion into a little boat.-

I’m having a bit of a clearout, I don’t think I’m sitting on a gold mine with these so if anyone fancies one drop me a PM. I’ll even cover the postage (UK only sorry - times are hard!) Only condition is that you have a crack at it in this GB.
Cheers

@TonyOD, as this would not be a true likeness of the subject as I cannot get the lettering right, would you like me to continue with this in this scheme, or do it as a military vehicle as supplied by Airfix? I am happy to fall in with your choice.
I think it would be churlish in the extreme to veto it on those grounds! Fascinating subject that deserves to be built.

It is likely there on one of the trees, unless it was on the "Mk.II" tree with the later style cockpit, motordrive UC unit and side walls?
Likely a spare in the Airfix kit Mk.I/II though.
If not, It's not exactly a difficult shape to make
Turns out the solution was under my nose - the Coffman bump is on Eduard's Mk V sprue, but not used for that marque. I have three of them in the stash so am well covered.
Slow progress but chipping away, I should be able to assemble the wings tonight.

January is often a difficult time when it comes to maintaining ebullience.
I can relate. There is indeed a paucity of ebullience.

Went looking for a Barracudecals resin prop… but alas, none to be had!
Good news! Hannants have the resin prop back in stock. I've ordered that and some prepainted etch to tart it up a bit, but if I start this before getting at least one of my current three builds out of the way, shoot me.

There are worse places to start than an Airfix '72 Spit, and she's looking great!

Haven't built a Tamiya Vb yet (or any Tamiya Spit for that matter, couple of Mk I's in the stash), will follow with interest, I'd like to see how it builds up compared to the Airfix Vb on on with at the moment. Great job on the cockpit.

With three separate builds going on and hosting duties for the Salty Sea Dog GB, I'm only dipping in and out of this one from time to time. Last night I gave the panel lines an enamel wash but during some over-vigorous removal of excess with a cotton bud I managed to damage one of the squadron codes. I have some spares, fortunately, so will be able to patch it up. Nice thumb print below the cockpit too.

I've seen that scheme on a decal sheet and now you've made it all the more appealing! You're right though, close-up photography can be brutal.
I have two bottles of original formulation Johnson's Klear, discontinued some 10-12 years ago, that I guard like Frodo did the One Ring!
