That looks fantastic. Love the subtle weathering. -
That looks fantastic. The red blisters are a bit of something different!

For various reasons progress is glacially slow, juggling three builds for one thing, but the cockpit is almost there. I'm eager to crack on with my other SSDGB builds but the two others I have on the go are quite close to completion and I haven't had anything over the line in a while. Anyway... Close up photography is brutal as always but I'm happy enough with how it looks to the naked eye, or at least the naked eye with reading glasses on! At the top of the air cylinders there's a connecting hose of some kind, I've seen it represented by etch (Eduard) and and moulded with the tanks (Airfix), with SH there's nothing at all so I superglued a very short length of thin fuse wire between the the tanks. The tub is glued to the port fuselage half, a test fit is pleasantly surprising in that the two halves go together just fine with it in place, I thought it might be cramped to the extent that fettling might be required, I think I read this was the case somewhere but no problems that I can see.

The Salty Sea Dog GB Chat Part 2
TonyOD replied to Enzo the Magnificent's topic in The Salty Sea Dog GB
Tru dat. The only Revell enamel I use is their 68 dark green which I feel for RAF day fighter/temperate land schemes is a better green than anything from Humbrol (especially the legendarily bad 30, which Airfix still insist on calling out after all these years!) -
This is looking fantastic! Greta improv work with the cereal box.

The Salty Sea Dog GB Chat Part 2
TonyOD replied to Enzo the Magnificent's topic in The Salty Sea Dog GB
Me too, but I have a couple of branches of Boyes nearby and they stock them. I went into Monk Bar Models (which is excellent) while I was in York this weekend and their stock of Humbrols was very thin, whereas everything else they do was well stocked. I wondered what to read into it. (Place was rammed, I know it's a busy tourist town but great to see a LMS doing well). -

The Salty Sea Dog GB Chat Part 2
TonyOD replied to Enzo the Magnificent's topic in The Salty Sea Dog GB
Nah then... Day 27 roundup! Four new WIPS added to the Build List, including my own Spitfire Mk Vc. Far more exciting though are @SoftScience's Zelos tanker (I reckon if you opened up the dictionary at "esoteric", there would be a picture of this kit); @stevej60's Corsair (he's trading blows with @2996 Victor for the "most WIPS" trophy - 7-6 to Mark at the moment, come on Steve, pull your socks up!); and @UberDaveToo has settled on USS Arizona from a vintage Revell kit. And another couple of crackers turned blue and in the gallery: @SoftScience (it's that man again) with his stunning 1/48 Sea Fury (what shot down a runaway plane), and @AliGauld's shapely Seafang. It's been a good day for Extra Dark Sea Grey. So today's numbers are... 160 builds 113 underway 17 finished It's waaay past my bedtime! Cheers all, happy modelling. Tony -

I sometimes think the only thing that's keeping me out of prison is that they wouldn't let me have my Exactoknife. -
