HMS Alynbank, Starling Models, 1/700 +++COMPLETED+++
TonyOD replied to Ray S's topic in The Salty Sea Dog GB
That's looking great. Cold enough here to snow, sadly not yet. We had a few flakes yesterday, not enough even for a light dusting, but enough to send the kids in the school where I work absolutely bananas! -
You've produced that in less than a fortnight?!?!? It's magnificent!

Another 1/48th Airfix Spitfire XIV
TonyOD replied to keithjs's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
Beautiful job. I was thinking of doing Airfix's XIV with the "Lazy Linda" kit scheme but this might be the one to go with. -
A Sea Harrier to keep Tony happy! Hasegawa 1/72 -Finished
TonyOD replied to Andwil's topic in The Salty Sea Dog GB
This is looking great. Looking forward to the end result. -
That is exactly the array of long thin things I have, @Bertie McBoatface, albeit not quite as neatly stored. So far I have found 317 different modelling uses for a cocktail stick.

Day 11 round-up... It's been a good day for the gallery: @theplasticsurgeon banks a splendid-looking Spitfire Mk XVII, and immediately sets about a second build in the form of a Spitfire floatplane - bosh! That's what I'm talking about! And @Touvdal gives us out first completed ship, in the shapely shape of his Japanese light cruiser Agano. New builds? Aside from the aforementioned flying floating thing, we are joined by @Giorgio N with an Italian Navy Harrier - benvenuto Giorgio! - and even as I was updating the Build List up popped @2996 Victor with yet another build! And a most interesting subject it is too, an Airabonita (new one to me!), but with now no less than seven builds on the list I feel we may need to stage an intervention. Today's numbers: 126 builds 92 underway 3 finished Hope you're enjoying your modelling as much as I'm enjoying looking at it. Cheers all Tony PS late addendum: @PeterB has just thrown a Vought F7U-3M into the the ring, but I'll add it to the BL tomorrow. Don't you people sleep?!

I feel deserted GB. 26th August - 17th December.

Happy birthday to me - I got this Tamiya LRDG Chevy truck to go with my SAS Jeep, the pair will be my first attempt at a diorama come August. -
Spitfire Mk.IIa 'Mountains o' Mourne' *FINISHED*
TonyOD replied to Dunny's topic in Work in Progress - Aircraft
Super job, looking splendid. I know what you mean about that PE part on the air bottles. My Overtrees set lacks it and I think fuse wire may be the way to go. -
Day 10 round-up... Could it be that after the initial frenzy of activity the SSDGB could be settling into a more, er, "manageable" pace? Just one new build today which is co-host @Bertie McBoatface's remarkable little Шлюпка 75mm с веслами (yes, that!), well actually two if you count @Davek72's additional B5N2, because now he's building two of 'em! Quite a few more turning green today though as people set about their builds in earnest. What are the scores on the doors, Isla? (Ask your dad...) 123 builds, of which 91 underway It'll be interesting to see how this goes... period of calm waters as we all quietly set about our builds, waves of finished builds joining the gallery, stormy seas as Sea Dogs (with the appropriate level of, er, encouragement from your hosts) pitch in with second, third, fourth builds? Or will this GB hit the doldrums halfway between now and the end April, as modellers answer the siren call of other GB's? We shall see! Wishing you continued happy modelling shipmates. Cheers Tony

TonyOD replied to Davek72's topic in The Salty Sea Dog GB
That wasn't actually a condition, I thought if I was sending you the decals you may as well have the plastic Anyway happy to hear it's arrived and looking forward to seeing your brace o' Kates! Cheers Tony -
Well, this covers a lot of bases… …or does it need to be more specific?
-
That's some next-level modelling. There should be a "wow" option in the little emoticons for work like this.
