  1. See I’m not sure about that. To me the verb “to intercept” implies simultaneous movement by both parties. Maybe if the Bofors was firing while being hauled by the tractor. Which would be pretty damn impressive. 😁
  2. Good to see this one cruising through! It's the one GB I plan to do for next year that I'm as yet undecided on subject matter though...
  3. I can relate to that. I'm trying to go OOB, no aftermarket at all and bring the whole thing in under ten quid, which means the kit decals will have to be decent. The PE that comes with these Hi Tech kits is a bit of a bonus.
  4. That's coming along beautifully. What an elegant aircraft it is.
  5. Got my eye on a Smer "Hi Tech" boxing of the Heller Tempest. Does the tenner include postage and estimated value of paint, adhesive and filler used? 🤔😁
  6. Being a Helleriste I'm pleased this one has made it through, and in fine style! I'm going with a Heller "Musée" series Potez 540 registered to the French government and used as a transport by General Charles de Gaulle while touring French colonies in Africa during 1941. That's French enough, n'est-ce pas? 🇫🇷

My first instinct was WW2 North Africa but I now realise there’s so much more to go at. I’ll be doing an Eritrean Su-27 and a Congolese Alouette III.
  8. @PeterB Bloch, I mean Dassault was quite a guy. I seem to remember reading somewhere that the reason the Germans were so hard on him (and they were very hard on him) was that he refused to design planes for them.
  9. I bought that for my sister for Christmas in 1983. Looking forward to seeing this come together. I have the Revell boxing and the decals are decent but there are some really interesting aftermarket decal sheets available for it.
  10. That’s fantastic. That German paint job looks the biz.
  11. Yeah I’ve seen that before, you have a point! This explains why pictures of the crew have them dressed very warmly! This is a kit that’s crying out for some aftermarket... some nice resin engines and a PE set to include interior detail, that grille and the ladder, which appears to be stowed hanging on the wall during flight.
  12. Fuselage fun... the fit of the underside transparencies is pretty poor, leaving gaps so big it would be fearsomely draughty for the crew. I even had to put a shim in the gap on that “prow” bit to give the filler something to sit on. It’s going to take a bit of work to clean this lot up.
  13. Just going back to those new yellow boxings: I've just got the T-28 kit too and the decals seem to be fine for register but the colour is a bit weird. The red in the French roundels (as well as the fuselage flashes in schemes B and C) is more like brown. That's not to say the red is off-colour throughout; the red in the tricouleur right next door to the roundels, in the US Navy stars'n'bars and the Moroccan AF roundels (the ones I plan to use, fortunately) is fine. It seems to be a design error rather than a printing error and a case of either poor quality control or "box 'em up, they'll do". Like the excellent Musée kit decals, they're printed by Ailes Françaises, who you think would know what a French roundel looks like. I've also got the Alouette III (Gendarmerie) kit and the decals are fine in that one. It seems the new decals are a bit hit-and-miss. This is a pity. Probably two out of three of my Heller stash I would anticipate using a/m decals either due to their age or because I've seen another possibility that I fancy, but it's nice at least to have the option to build OOB and not have to write the kit decals off. You could argue that if the decals are off colour or out of register the product is faulty. I wonder if they will see any returns because of dodgy decals?
  14. This is awesome! Doesn't it feel a bit weird modelling a tiny version of yourself though?
  15. Super job. Interesting colour scheme!
  16. In the closing stages that was more tense than Pennsylvania! So I did a quick list of the GB's I've put myself down for, and my likely picks for them, then another list of the other "non-GB" stash candidates that I'd really like to have a crack at in 2021. Then I considered having to earn a living, and spend at least some of the time asleep, and also maybe spend a bit of time with SWMBO. Then I brought into the equation that scale modelling isn't even my "main" recreational pastime, wandering around in the mountains is, and as 2020 has been utterly pants on that front I'll want to be making up for lost time next year. Finally I factored in my risible completion rate. Then I had a good laugh. My final list is Desert Storm: SEPECAT Jaguar Africa: Sukhoi Su-27 Flanker, Alouette III Unarmed: Caudron C-645 Simoun Less Than A Tenner: Hawker Tempest French Fancy: Potez 540 Nordic: Saab Safir quadruple triple build (one each for Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark) With maybe a STGB or two. Thanks to @Enzo Matrix for running the poll, and in advance to the hosts! Edit: I can't find a Danish Safir. Pity.
  17. That’s a belter. I like the Canadian scheme. Italeri do a boxing of this (or maybe the 415, can’t remember) with some nice Italian options, I quite fancy a go.
  18. I was pondering what I'm going to do for this GB. A Norwegian plane OR a Swedish plane OR a Danish plane OR an Finnish plane...
  19. Hope all’s well @Rabbit Leader!
  20. That looks great. I've never done armour but I have this, the 13 and the Sherman in the stash. I wonder if aftermarket tracks are available?
