  1. Thank you, it did take 6 coats with the spray gun! Primed it then pre shaded with black which at the time looked a bad choice as the yellow was not hiding it hence the 6 coats but looking at it, think it works better then it mottled or pre shading with a lighter grey
  2. That’s not a bad shout for the next helo. Another 202 would be a good pair for the king. Although I am a fan of the navy’s grey and red schemes. Shame the government abolished the SAR. When ever you heard a helo everyone would get excited if it was a sea king going over. Always remember Xmas day morning,, one would fly over the village with Santa hanging out the winch door waving.
  3. Not sure which few seconds I’d find exciting. Probably the last few when you knew you were alright. I’m guessing airframes were swapped around the different flights for various reasons
  4. I have heard about this crash before. Did one of its rotors clip the cliff side? It’s good to hear that you have flown in this aircraft as well (presume that’s why it’s in your log book) we were based at Boulmer in 95. Loved seeing it fly
  5. Neilspan it’s a great kit, comes with the triangular and box filter around the engine intakes as well which opens it up to pretty much all marks unless you want the navy with sonar then an after market would be the easier way.
  6. 1/72 scale airfix sea king har2 202 squadron RAF Boulmer. main kit used was the airfix sea king har3/no.43 new tool with some decals coming from the old tool sea king har3 with 202 RAF boulmer markings. Sprayed with Vallejo model air and masking kit used. airfix grey wash used. 6 month build for someone who actually worked on the aircraft serial. Really enjoyable build and I found the kit fit fantastic. No filler needed and minimal sanding. Contemplating using the same kit again for a Royal Navy ace of spades build
  7. Hi I’m looking forward some 202 squadron decals for the sea king mk3 raf boulmer c.1995 all I can find are those with anniversary dates around the duck and the ones that come with the old airfix kit aren’t the best. I’ve been looking online but cannot find any. Any ideas? 1/72 scale
