If you follow Ebay procedures, you have to send it back first but I find Ebay don't always make thing better for anyone

now that is worth knowing, how to organise that seems to be another matter, not easy to find your way around their 'complaints' pages. Thanks for the comments everyone..

  7. " Hornby on the brink of collapse " according to the paper - what chance those lovely new tools now ?

    1. Synopsis

      Synopsis

I know Hornby owns Airfix but I beleive the Airfix side of the business is in good health so if the worst was to happen it should be easy enough to sell that side to help the parent companys finances I would guess.

  8. Aviation Week are opening up their archive online for their 100 year anniversary - that's 500,000 pages of aviation reading online for free!

      Steve Coombs

Not trying to be smug, but I regard each new kit like an IKEA flatpack - the first thing to do is check the parts.

It can't be beyond the wit of Airfix to replace a transparency sprue, surely? Transparencies were missing from a Spitfire 22 kit of mine a couple of years ago, and the spare arrived in Germany within a week.

    3. FalkeEins

      FalkeEins

yep, lesson learned...I'm even thinking that where I buy in a real shop, I'll try to view the contents first..

Have you sorted your canopy issues? Is it the Mk 1 or the Mk IV? I have a spare Mk 1 canopy (didn't turn up in time to replace a crushed one, but I was able to extemporise). May take awhile to come from Oz though. PM if interested.

  11. ..2nd Blenheim I and 1st Blenheim IV started - things are a little easier second time around!

Part 2 - ...the wing halves together to get a nice strong joint. Assemble the engine cowlings before inserting the engines themselves - tolerances are tight.

The new Blenheim kits are lovely when they're done, don't despair and don't give up!

.all done..to be fair to Airfix they have tried to represent the pintle and the leg very accurately...a little too accurately

If the paint is not broken then getting it warm with a hair dryer or similar will stop it cracking when you pop the dent out. If the metal is creased then a DIY repair is very hard but doable you should push out most of the dent then fill the rest in that case. Good luck. Oh and give the repair site a good clean with abrasive or solvent to make sure the filler sticks.

Find an art supply shop. Artists use similar stuff but it's thinner. It also goes off. I've just checked mine. not too expensive for a small jar
