  2. ..great work Mike .....I was more curious about the 'colour' you used on the landing gear ?
  3. ...looks fantastic Manu - but an awful lot of it is not going to be seen! Re the PO charges, a mate's just got his. He was charged £31
  4. very nice indeed Graham was 355th CO and gets a chapter to himself in Danny Morris' "Aces & Wingmen" (1973 editon)...

  8. .. superb build and finish Rowan....your skill with an airbrush is second to none!
  9. .. looks superb. Just acquired this sheet from Kitsworld
  10. ...great stuff Rich....and neat blog too !
  11. ..got the Trumpeter and Eduard kits in my stash. Some areas of the Trumpeter kit are quite neat, detailed radio bay etc, other areas are pretty poor, starting with the later-model 109 cockpit config and the toy-like wheels/hubs
  12. .. at some point you should just go for it with the airbrush.... okay, it will require a certain amount of practise and it's not necessarily going to look brilliant first ( ..or even third) time.....but beats using a brush. Shouldn't be too difficult in the larger scales ...a 72nd 109 will be a tad harder. If you muck it up, wipe off and start again (one of the reasons I use enamels rather acrylics..) One thing that helped me was getting an experienced airbrush user to show me the ropes before I started - to de-mystify the whole process, you know, stripping the brush down, mixing the paint etc etc ..I just shovel the paint into the cup with a brush..once you've seen it done, you might find yourself thinking that it really wasn't as difficult as you imagined it might be. Perhaps if you don't know anyone, look at a suitable 'how-to' DVD or similar...
  13. ..any rumours of any planned resin bits..? would love to do mine with the nose radome open....
  14. ....thought occurred to me that I could build mine with one wing folded and one extended...or is that perhaps not sensible/technically possible ?
  15. ..at the risk of stating the obvious, Geoff didn't post any pics...not one
  16. ..agreed....Winsor and Newton oils works fine for me over a few coats of Klear....FWIW I personally don't like the other 'washes' mentioned here at all and always thought the PM stuff was terribly over-rated
  17. ..birthday next week ..she's buying mine !
