  1. I'd agree. I struggle in similar fashion. been airbrushing for donkey's years, have decent airbrushes (Harder & S), compressor and tank. Every session is still a bit of a chore. Used to hate having to strip the brush down after each session, now I can do it in my sleep. Definitely the paint & thinning that's the problem. But then I've used them all - or so it seems. Keeping separate brushes for acrylics and enamels is a good tip. A colleague recently suggested Mr Color - beautiful paints, but no, they don't seem to 'work' any better than Tamiya. which are probably still the best for me. So I stick to cans for single colour schemes - Halfords Volvo dark grey is great for black by the way. Yellows and reds are great out of cans. The new Dora Wings Fairey Delta will probably get a few coats of BMW blue and look not too bad!
  2. very nice! 'Droop snoot' option on this one...?
  3. @Gondor44 ..any wheel well shots by any chance plse ?
  4. looks fantastic ...but in actuality decal options E, F & G were A-8s with, among other detail differences, the engine mounted MG 131s under a 'bulged' cowl cover. Still I'd do Hackl's machine (B)
  5. quite stunning! My build of this kit appears on my blog somewhere in 2010 but it wuz crap. This is a masterpiece. Those tracks are the business, I recall ruining my kit tracks by heating them and then stapling them together!
  6. The raid was featured in “Life“ magazine ( ‘Daring RAF plane visits Paris’) in the issue dated 10 August 1942.
  7. crikey Jes, that is drastic, most of the parts seem to be still on the sprue....
  8. lots of references to it, but the actual index link was here on BM - the link is now dead though. How big is the file, any chance of a re-upload?
  9. tongue in cheek... I hope. There's enough clips on youtube from the three episodes to get an idea
  10. ..doubtful... given that time is money would Airfix scan a Ju 52 in Norway when there's a Ju 52 sitting in Hawkinge now, its only 20 miles down the road from Airfix.
  11. email with tracking no. from Jadlam just received!
  12. QB do a resin replacement - but its not the correct shape at all, so in the end I used the kit fin on mine...
  13. how do we know that ? And I don't suppose anybody watching this will learn much about the merits or otherwise of 'area bombing' the 'Norden' sight, or whatever. I'm interested in Graham's point about 'language' though. Just how different was it back then? Lots of F-words, were they used that commonly? As for the CGI, we are so used to seeing 'Sally B' pootle around Duxford, I'm guessing they were flown much more 'aggressively' in combat?
  14. Thorpe Abbotts a few summers ago on my hols. Although the old airfield is now virtually fully returned to agriculture, stretches of the southern perimeter track are reasonably well-preserved - heavily-laden B-17s once picked their way along this route...
  15. looking good ! ....where the heck is mine ?!
  16. you say that now, bet you won't be able to resist! the KP kit seems to fit the OP's original requirement..early RAF etc...
  17. watched free episode...thought it was stunning. How can you go wrong with Spielberg/Hanks? Will watch it again, may even subscribe. I know Thorpe Abbotts and its tower- one of the best museums in East Anglia. The way its been brought to life here is quite something..
  18. you binned them ?!! How hard was that to do? Very, I imagine...I find myself in a similar position - run out of space having 'down-sized' a while ago.
  19. try Paramount+ loads of good stuff, especially Costner's 'Yellowstone', Sheridan Smith in 'Castaways' and Nicole Kidman in 'Lioness'. First episode of MoftheA is free to watch I believe although signing-in with a QR code is probably beyond my ken!
  20. The new Dora Wings kit is on its way and now I'm wondering what refs I can dig out. Aside from Wings of Fame (Vol 12) I know of none. Hikoki book on British experimental types comes to mind Have Aeroplane done a 'Data-base' on the type....? Maybe there's a 'walkaround' here come to think of it...
  21. you could use these to smash-mold some new ones and cut out to the shape of fuselage more easily perhaps
