  1. Fits in there really well! Snug as a bug! (You can't tell I'm in the middle of putting the kids to bed can you? πŸ˜‹) Nick
  2. Yeah... not sure how much scope there is for extra detailing on the interior but since you've asked so nicely πŸ˜„ I'll do my best! Nick
  3. Thanks gents! I know what you mean but I just kept finding things to do! πŸ˜„.I'm glad I managed to find some braided line as those lines to me are one of the main focal points of the engine in terms of detailing. Very tempted to display it with the engine cover open...πŸ€” Nick
  4. Thanks you all! 😊 neither this is the Revell Kit. Cheers, Nick
  5. Evening all Thank you very much for the kind comments.😊 always a source of encouragement! I have (finally!) finished detailing the engine bay. I have to admit I really enjoyed doing it. What I was aiming for And what I ended up with... A good enough approximation IMHO and hopefully at least a bit more interesting to look at compared to the OOB engine. A side pic And I couldn't resist plonking the body on to get an idea of the finished look! Wheels next and the onto the interior and back down the rabbit hole we go!πŸ˜„ Thanks for looking, Nick
  6. That's looking like a really interesting build! Yep I agree with what Pete said. Also worth trying to drill out the area around the rear differential? Nick
  7. Nice start. I'll be following with interest since I am building exactly the same car with the same detail up set! πŸ™‚ What colour are you going to do the wheels in? Nick
  8. Morning all This weekend's progress. The engine is in! I also added more pipework. I would have added the other braided line on the left but I broke the connector... not a biggie since I had to make some for the right hand side. Merciless close pics as always Thanks for looking, Nick
  9. Went into Southampton for music in the city... didn't listen to much music! πŸ˜„ but did see these beauties parked up. The next two are for you @Spiny And a couple more Nick
  10. Good idea in either case. Great start to the build. Nick
  11. Thanks for the compliment Andy but there are quite a few rough spots and some bits of dust lurking around in there so a polish is very much necessary. Nick
  12. FYI @Anteater Here's the cables ties I am using Cheers, Nick
  13. Thanks Anteater! 😊. The cable ties I got from spotmodel. Can't remember manufacturer. They can break easily so they need to be handled with care. But they do look very good. Nick
  14. Hi Spiny Yep I will definitely be polishing this one and yes I will be Uber careful around those edges! 😱 Nick
  15. Cheers Keith! Not sure I need any more inspiration if I hope to finish the model this year but heh ho! πŸ˜„ Nick
  16. Afternoon all Time for an update! I've been holding off getting some hobby storage until I had been given the go ahead by SWMBO to have a hobby desk. So after much searching I purchased the following from greenstuffworld. And a few hours later... All good to go! So back to the build... Looking at some pics of an empty engine bay (courtesy of detailing world.co.uk) I was not happy with the kit offering so scratch build the reservoir on the left which I am assuming is the oil reservoir?πŸ€” Here is what I started with And the end result I also spotted that the bulkhead is supposed to be aluminium and also took the opportunity to paint the pipes in the same colour as the photo. I also decided to scratch build the top pipe with the cable ties (but without the connector in the middle) just to add a bit more detail And I have just realised that one of the cable ties decided to run away and some touch ups are required... πŸ˜„β˜ΊοΈ Next steps will be to glue the engine in and then carry on with making the connectors for the braided lines. Thanks for looking, Nick
  17. Really good idea for preventing burn through! Body is looking good. Nick
  18. Morning all Everything that needed a clear coat has now got one. And a close up of the body I'm pleased with the body colour but it does not appear as deep as I would have ideally liked. Gravity colours did say to use a dark primer. I used a darkish grey. If I ever do something similar I'll use black next time... This one is going back into hibernation whilst I fully concentrate on the testarossa from now on. Thanks for looking, Nick
  19. All classics. My favourite early Bond is From Russia with love
  20. Oh no what have I started...
  21. Fantastic conversion Neddy. Just needs a surfboard in the back! 😎 Nick
  22. IMHO that is one cool pic! Nick
