Superb work there. The details shown in photos with the engine are amazing! Nick -
Really? You sure there are not some more details you could add? š Really enjoyed watching this build come together. Funnily enough I watched the Le Mans film with Steve McQueen yesterday and did wonder what on earth was around the headlights until there was a close up where you could see the plastic film! Nick

Hi Anteater Don't worry about being late. This is a marathon not a sprint!š To answer your question yes I am going to use TS13 to clear gloss it but I will be sanding the clear and then polishing it back up. I found that way that you can't really see the clear layer. That's the method I used on my recent Eldorado project. The colour on that was metallic blue. Nick

What CAR/BIKE kits have you recently bought 2?
Fnick replied to shood23's topic in Vehicle Discussion
Keeping that theme going it was my birthday last week so I got the Revell Mustang 302 boss and the revell Porsche 911 coupe. Well I was supposed to get the 911 but they sent out a jaguar e type by mistake šalong with the receipt saying they had sent out a Porsche 911 š Nick Good choice from you son Pat btw. The GT4 is a nice kit -

Flat black... Yes colours are a bit bright! Nick -
Hi I work on my kitchen table .if it helps here's a photo. Everything is stored on shelves in utility room. The Macalister box is from B&Q (no affiliation). It's tall enough for microsol and valejjo bottles. I tend to fill it with the paints I'm going to need for a particular build. The box on the right has been partionned with cardboard š to make it easier to store tools, etc (sorry bit of a mess at the mo) I am fortunate to have a workbench in the garage but given it is not heated I tend to work in the kitchen. I only used acrylics. Any lacquer spraying is done in the garage when it's not too cold. Hope this helps Nick

Evening all The GT4 is now painted. I'm quite please how it's looking in flat black. Next steps is to start the decalling. Looking forward to that. Thanks for looking, Nick -
So I'm putting on the last coat of paint... And then I run out of paint which causes the spray can to splatter on my nice newly repainted bonnet...ā¹ļø So I'm going to have to get done more paint and of course after I've just received an order.... Yes I know first class problems! At least the GT4 came out ok! Nick

Thanks Spiny. I think regarding the colour difference it was mainly user error. I realised I wasn't pressing consistently hard on the spray nozzle sometimes. I'm in the middle of spraying the GT4 at the mo so it will take me a few days before the bonnet is sorted. Nick

UK RAISES ALERT LEVEL The English are feeling the pinch in relation to recent Russian threats and have therefore raised their security level from āMiffedā to āPeeved.ā Soon, though, security levels may be raised yet again to āIrritatedā or even āA Bit Cross.ā The English have not been āA Bit Crossā since the blitz in 1940 when tea supplies nearly ran out. The Russians have been re-categorized from āTiresomeā to āA Bloody Nuisance.ā The last time the British issued a āBloody Nuisanceā warning level was in 1588, when threatened by the Spanish Armada. The Scots have raised their threat level from āwee weed Offā to āLetās Get the sweethearts.ā They donāt have any other levels. This is the reason they have been used on the front line of the British army for the last 300 years. The French government announced yesterday that it has raised its terror alert level from āRunā to āHide.ā The only two higher levels in France are āCollaborateā and āSurrender.ā The rise was precipitated by a recent fire that destroyed Franceās white flag factory, effectively paralyzing the countryās military capability. Italy has increased the alert level from āShout Loudly and Excitedlyā to āElaborate Military Posturing.ā Two more levels remain: āIneffective Combat Operationsā and āChange Sides.ā The Germans have increased their alert state from āDisdainful Arroganceā to āDress in Uniform and Sing Marching Songs.ā They also have two higher levels: āInvade a Neighbourā and āLose.ā Belgians, on the other hand, are all on holiday as usual; the only threat they are worried about is NATO pulling out of Brussels. The Spanish are all excited to see their new submarines ready to deploy. These beautifully designed subs have glass bottoms so the new Spanish navy can get a really good look at the old Spanish navy. Australia, meanwhile, has raised its security level from āNo worriesā to āSheāll be alright, Mate.ā Two more escalation levels remain: āCrikey! I think weāll need to cancel the barbie this weekend!ā and āThe barbie is cancelled.ā So far, no situation has ever warranted use of the final escalation level. John Cleese ā British writer, actor and tall person

Morning all I was going to say that the body is painted and clear coated but I realised (and you can see on the pic in the last page...) that the front wing did not have enough paint so looks lighter than that door... So the bonnet paint was removed last night and I need to reprime and repaint and reclearcoat! There is some progress to report. The engine is coming along nicely. And here is a prototype for the ignition wires. Unpainted but that will be the easy bit! š Looking at pics of the real thing the wires go over a piece that needs to be installed later so I need to work out how to proceed... Thanks for looking Nick

That is very impressive Andy especially at this scale. The two rear shots are very realistic! Definitely getting the E type when it comes out! Nick -
That is a very good finish on a difficult colour. Looks like I'm going to have to try and get some of the green stuff chrome... Nick Looks like its time to send the kids back to that shop! š
