1:16 scale AMT/ERTL 1964-1/2 Ford Mustang Coupe
Fnick replied to Neddy's topic in Work In Progress - Vehicles
It has indeed!🙂👏 Nick -
Lovely detail in there. It always impresses me how some wiring just makes an engine bay look far more convincing. Nick
-
Building this one at the mo. That is an outstanding finish irrespective of scale! IMHO the replacement wheels are better. Motobitz did you say...🤔😄 Bravo again Nick
-
Good repair on the sill. I would imagine the difference in shine will pretty much go once you sand /polish the new part. Nick

Morning all Tan colour in progress. Probably need another coat. I mustn't forget to get the body out of the display cabinet and paint the headliner. Once that is all done I'll need to add some chrome detail. I'll be using BMF for that. Thanks for looking, Nick

Morning all Gloss black applied. Ready for the chrome! Nick

Flawless paint job on the body! 😲👏 Nick
-
Thanks Pouln! You are right the radio is out of alignment. I messed up the decalling... Maybe I will leave that window in place after all! 😄 Nick
-
Yep you are probably right John. I need to start doing a bit more research to see if simple alterations can help with the realism of the model. I did thin down the fan fins but did that before realising they were going to be hidden in the radiator housing! 🤣. And nothing wrong with criticism if it's constructive and well meant which yours was. Thats why I'm very tempted to have one of the front windows open. It will mean cutting a very delicate window away though...😱 Thanks for the comments gents.! Nick

Modelling heaven that! 🤪

Evening all Thank you all for the comments and reactions. Much appreciated as always. Lots of work for not much visible progress. All masked up ready for gloss black then chrome! Thanks for looking, Nick
-
Evening all Not a lot of progress. Just managed to glue the dash together. I really need to start painting the interior but need to mix up enough paint to ensure I have enough for a least three coats Thanks for looking, Nick

Lovely colour for the interior. And yes I agree with you the airbrush greenstuffworld chrome is amazing. Still getting to grips with the brush on version though... Nick
-
It just dulled down the chrome but since I need to touch up all the wheels it's no problem. And don't worry Spiny I had already done that before you suggested IPA! Not very well in Google translate no it doesn't!😂 Interior now done! Steering wheel is a bit battered due to hole drilling plus I also managed to loose it and it got a bit bashed on the kitchen floor! Thanks for looking, Nick
-
Tidy build and great photos especially the close ups of the interior. I especially like the cabin one. Nice contrast between the grey of the interior and the slightly more colourful exterior! Nick
-
Hi Spiny. yes I did paint the wheels with chrome paint (greenworldstuff one). I did try to remove the wash with enamel thinner (the wash I used was tamiya accent panel line) but that just dulled the chrome paint. Nick

Hi Noel Here's a pic of the wheels And in situ So not bad at all IMHO. They look a bit dark but that is because I completely forgot to clean up the black wash I put in so Ill need to go over the raised areas with chrome paint again! Cheers, Nick
-
Hi Thierry I'm in! So is this going to be a straight out of the box build or are you planning any mods! At least the doors look like they can already open! 😂😋 Nick

Yep they've done a very good job with detailing considering the scale. So this is with the two halves together Yes the seam is prominent. You could do what you suggested but for me given the fact it looks like it could be on the real car and for me this is just a fun little build I'll leave it as is! Cheers, Nick
-
Thanks gents! Thierry I did put a glaze over the gauges but not enough. I'll give it a coat of microgloss when I get a mo. Nick

Morning all More progress. Dashboard finished and so is the interior. I had to mix this tan colour as I couldn't find a ready made one. Quite pleased with how it has come out. Next step is to do all the chrome work on the body. Thanks for looking, Nick
-
Morning all Work on the interior is progressing. Dashboard is nearly complete. The photo is fat too reflective... Looks better in real life honest! And I followed the wood effect tutorial found on the TSMC YouTube channel for the steering wheel and gear stick. Next steps are to start painting the interior. I tested the colour on the 1/43 e type. Thanks for looking, Nick

Like it! Looking forward to your excellent photos. Nick

Yep I'll second that. Great job. Those bumpers make a massive difference in the overall look. And anyway it's not orange peel it's just great weathering showing the body starting to rust beneath the paint! 😋. K I'll get my 🧥... Nick
