  1. Leaning towards Fuijimi FG1. It’s got 43 Sqdn decals for a grey machine but I’m not convinced about larger underwing serials so I’ll probably go aftermarket. Thanks Chris
  2. Dates work so I'm hoping to go with this for my first GB of 2023; armed recce, and probably the shiney ANG one on the box art. Chris
  3. I don't know; most of the GB proposals I supported this year didn't even reach the bunfight. 😀 Chris
  4. I have checked Scalemates and lots of my stash was tooled before 1990, so is it the spirit of this classic GB to use aftermarket, not just decals but pitot, bang seats etc? If so and 'main' GB dates are as proposed this morning I could be in with a Fujimi F-4, probably a FG1 or FGR2, or a Hasegawa F-104, probably a S. (and never more than one 😀) Chris
  5. @CliffB absolutely yes, this covers a massive part of my stash, F-82, F-86, F-94, F-100, F-104A, F-106, Hunter, probably more. Would have to check that a particular airframe was built in the dates. Great idea. Chris
  6. 😎 all 3 I supported got through - recce / desert / southern Europe - that is from among the ones that made the bunfight - loads I support didn't get here - shows I have different tastes. Now I need the dates not to overlap Never know, I may finish one build (not multiple) within GB dates in 2023. Chris
  7. Patrice I am surprised how poorly this is doing, I’d say it’s too far behind to make the cut. I have voted for this. The obvious builds are the WWII stuff Paul’s posted pictures of, if I was participating I’d build something like this Michigan Guard F-4C. Chris
  8. wasn't me, but I only got £20 and that was in crypto currency that has tanked. Where's my extra tenner (hopefully one those plastic notes that doesn't get ruined in the jacuzzi)? 😀 Chris
  9. Nice, this was on the ramp at Newcastle on the Heathrow run two weeks ago when I flew in. (I think there’s only one A319 in this scheme?) Chris
  10. CF-104 done so a start; some sub-assemblies and paint on both ends of engines. Quinta cockpit and/or undercarriage and/or drop tanks next. Chris
  11. Lovely rhino, norm 81 suits it. Particularly like the weathered panel lines. Chris
  12. Thanks Craig, lessons learnt for the next one, which if bunfight doesn’t change too much, would be a late grey AMI one, weathered of course, in Southern Europe. 😀 Or could be a recce one… Chris
  13. ..me too, IIRC a much smaller box when it first came out? Detailed for the era. Looking forward to this. Chris
  14. A belated finish from the Century Series GB; my heavily weathered Norwegian CF-104. Hasegawa 1/72 CF-104 RoNAF boxing Master pitot Humbrol enamels W&N varnishes (satin, except anti-glare and tyres in matt) Flory washes Third completion for 2022. Chris
  15. And all done. Happy with weathering, and apologies to the RoNAF is they were never this dirty IRL, and happy with painted pitot candy stripe. Not my best: When I started varnishing many decals moved, and I was using a big brush and failed to get all back in place as varnish dried. Silvering still noticeable. Old canopy masks not perfect. Join between front and rear fuselage visible. Chris
  16. What post war aircraft modeller hasn’t. A right of passage or an obsession. 😡 Enjoy when you do. Chris
  17. Paul, I’m on that list twice does that mean I get £40. 🤑 Chris
  18. I buy too much, but nothing I am not comfortable with (competent is a different matter). I do have a 1/72 BUFF I can't see I'll ever build, but that's because I can't see where it would live. Current votes put a lot that I am not interested in in the running and conversely a lot that I liked as unlikely to happen. That's not a problem; less GB participation means more chance of finishing on time. It's a contrast with this year where overlapping GBs means I have missed a number I like. Chris
  19. Paul, I’ve realised that many GBs are wide open enough you can fit something from the stash in and there’s a lot of overlap. But I’d see very little overlap between these two. My desert options are Iranian F-4 or Israeli F-16. My Southern European are Greek F-5 or Italian F-104. I can’t think of a post war desert camo scheme in Southern European; even when Italian starfighters went to the Gulf they remained in grey / green. Is there overlap in prop driven thingys? Chris
  20. Very nice, it looks attractive in that scheme, and very nicely recreated. Guessing very unlikely to be carrying SDBs in role? Chris
  21. You still need the votes. and seriously there are too many good proposals out there. Chris
