Thanks again for nice comments!
Simon: the light on the wing is actually a clear self-adhesive tape glued over the leading edge and cut to shape. The aerial is piece of tie fishing line.

Spad: started on Thu evening and finished on Tue afternoon (used only CA glue and acrylics)

Hi all,
this is 1/72 Revell kit I built over the Easter holidays. Pretty nice kit, only the canopy was thick and incorrectly shaped, so I replaced at least the malcom hood with a vacformed item.

Hi,
thanks, I'm trying to check that site but for unknown reason the page still crashes; I'll try later on.
I know about the bomb rack(s) on Republican machines. As far as my poor French allow to understand the Airmagazine article, the passenger seats were removed from the cabin and replaced with six vertical bomb racks (I guess something like Italians used on SM.79 or Germans on He 111). Don't forget on the fixed machine guns, one per wing and one synchronized mounted on fuselage side (not sure about its exact position as the period pictures are not clear enough on this).
Grey color scheme sounds good, not sure seeing such, but quite possible I guess. Or it might be mismatched with dull NMF.

So, just to show some little progress on my project, you can see draft of the decals made by a club fellow, now we're tuning the sizes and shape of the fuselage numbers.

Hello,
recently I found some references on the GAL Monospar, perhaps they might be helpful for guys building the Azur kit.

Ok gents, time to start my first contribution!

I would like to build this kit in the Nationalists marking. The kit contains only the Republican options, so it is up to me to make own decals or paint masks.
At the beginning, here is the overview of the box content, the machine I intend to built and the draft of the masks done in Corel I 'll be cutting on a plotter.

Hi blimp, thanks! As you said, little bit tricky, especially the cabane struts alingment, but generaly fairly easy kit to built.

Hi folks,
my recent effort - tired from heavy guns and grey and browns I took this as a 'rest' kit.
It is tiny indeed - wingspan about 12cm and lenght 9cm.

It's good to see the Soviet stuff is becoming so popular here

For sure I'll join in, a good reason to start the some LaGGs, Yaks or Polikarpovs, in 1/72 of course.

I have the He 111E version in my loft, so in emergency case I can send you scans. I guess except the engines the airframe was pretty much the same.
Send me PM if needed.

Hi walrus,
good luck with this one! Actually, I am going to join this GB with the same kit

Do you have the French mag Airmagazine? No. 18 and 21 includes articles with lot of photos (unfortunately the text in a strange language I ca'nt read)

You mentioned the markings are for Nationalist aircraft, what is obviously not the case.
Btw, the Nationalist used captured V-1's and their camo is sexy too. -
I'm sure the Czech pilots got along plenty fine with some of our excellent ales Redboost
Sure, no doubt about that

Many thanks for nice comments!

Hasegawa kit converted to FR Mk IX standard built within our modelling club "Spitfire IX theme build".
PRU Pink mixed as suggested in the excellent thread elsewhere on this forum, although maybe still too pink, but I like it anyway

Hi there,
Recently I finished the Academy single seater kit. The colors are AII Green (lighter version), AII Black and AII Light Blue. I used Gunze paints for upper colors, H312 Green and H12 Flat Black (with little white to tone it down). The Light Blue comes from Aeromaster range, but it could be find in the Gunze too, if required.
May I add some hints, please ingore the instructions as the camouflage pattern and recommended colors are wrong. The Brown/Green combination was never used on single seat Il-2's. The very early machines very Dark Green over Light Blue, later the Black/Green patterns were inntroduced. There were also some other variants using "emergency" colors in case the regular colors were temporarily unavailable. The Il-2's were manufactured in three factories and each factory usually used their own "standards" (it is simplified, but basically true...).
Of note is fact that some of the machines featured in the kit could have had wooden fuselage rear and wing outer parts and different armament (Shvak cannons instead of Vja located inboard). For example, the Il-2 I built had wooden fuselage with external stringers I made of plastic profiles. The best way is to look at the photos, albeit they are very rare...
Good luck with your Shturmovik!

Danny: no, I was not sure if the ventral gun was carried, so I omitted it.

The Dambuster "G" for George of Guy Gibson, VC, 617. squadron.
Hasegawa kit with Eduard etched parts and Quickboost gun barrels.

It is unofficial, but Mr.Sulc from Eduard mentioned that on a Czech modelling forum. It is a part of their plan how to overcome the recent economic issues, they want to utilize the know-how from already done attractive models (e.g. Trumpeter works in this way too) to scale down (or maybe up?) some kits and the Bf 110 in 1/72 will be one of them. Release date is of course not known yet, but considering the Eduard's release schedule it may take a year or so.
-
Just my 2 cents:
Do 17 - for the early versions (E/F/P/K/M) I would consider the recent RS Models kits. Nicely detailed, pretty accurate, but little bit pricey.
Bf 110 family- Eduard will scale down their 1/48 kits

Spad: the Malcom hood comes from Squadron canopy set which I guess is intended for the Monogram kit, but the Malcom fits perfectly.
Ali: I used Gunze Mr.Color flat laquer thinned with original Mr.Color thinner in 1/10 ratio.
