  1. Hasegawa Mk.21 kit built as Mk X with addition of Eduard etched seat belts and Aeromaster decals from 'Whispering Death part 2' sheet for 30.sq. RAAF's machine, New Guinea. Cheers Libor
  2. I bought it back in 2001 or 2002 in a local shop; now it's oop.
  3. I'm kicking off with the Applecore, which I intend to build as a ASV radar equipped machine from 826.squadron, based on Hal Har, Malta; the main reference material being Tony O'Toole's excellent article in MAM July 2007. Over the weekend I put together the fuselage. The cockpit will be closed except the gunner hatch, so it is assembled just out of the box with no additional detailing. The boxart Fuselage with removed upper decking that slides back when the guns were released The fuselage tank with reinforcing stripes from Tamiya tape Painted cockpit. The wash is little bit heavier to give some depth to details under the glazing
  4. Thank you gentleman for your comments! Cheers Libor
  5. I'll kick off with the MPM 1/72 Albacore!
  6. Hello, my latest, Hasegawa kit with Eduard etched (zoom+exterior), Quickboost engines and gun barrels and Superscale decals. Cheers Libor

  9. Ok, the last one for tonight, I promise Cheers Libor
  10. ... and the fiddling paint masks for the nose artwork in place.
  11. Yes, I think it is the case especially where the share of hand work prevails. i.e. short-run kits. But also the moulding procedure and the injection process itself (material shrinkage etc.) may influnce the final result. Otherwise thanks for support! The painting in progress.... Cheers Libor
  12. A little progress today, having replaced the wing's strenghtening stripes, adding the landing lights with deflectors... Now onto the masking, priming and riveting. Cheers Libor
  13. Hi, Finally, the sanding rapsody is over, now I'm fitting the vacform canopy, it's going pretty smoothly. Cheers Libor
  14. Thanks chaps for nice replies! Max Headroom: unfortunately I did not see the Airfix kit yet, so I really don't know what's inside. Btw, the new-mould MPM/Special Hobby kit is due next month. Dogsbody: this time no article Walrus: yes, the Vultee is coming soon! Cheers Libor
  15. Hi all, due to an unexpected raise of motivation I finished one of my long-term project: Base kit: Vista (later reboxed by Revel) Aftermarkets: 2x Airwaves set, Eduard seatbelts, Falcon canopy (front windshield only), Resin Art wheels and exhausts, DP Casper decals. CMK R.R Merlin for Hurricane Home made: wheel wells, arrestor hook, fuselage modification (raised stringers), engine moutings and many others small things I forget during those years... Paints: temperate sea scheme mixed of Gunze H range This Fulmar was flown by Lt. MacDonald-Hall during battle for Crete in May 1941 and shot down 2 x Ju-88 (with participation of the other Fulmar). Cheers Libor
  16. Hi, my SH Skua's done. From building point of view no major issues. A building article might appear sometimes in MAI. Cheers Libor
  17. Hello colleagues, let me just remind that the full build article on the Valom Hampden features the latest issue of Model Airplane Int. Cheers, Libor
  18. Hi, some further progress - strugling with the poor fitting wing halves. The two-part putty can keep the thick layer without sinking.
  19. Yep, doing my best The wheel wells - there are just openings in the wing, so I boxed them in using thin plasticard. Some further details inside the wells will follow later on.
  20. Hi walrus! Thanks, maybe I should add even more stuff in I'll post further progress over the weekend. Recently I jammed at the wing to fuselage joint. This will need tons of filler, seems to have a busy weekend
  21. I'm just building one for a review article and so far I'm very happy. Accurate shapes, lot of details, almost no filler required. It is obvious the Mushroom book was the main reference. Ad Pavla kit - it is really challenging kit. I build one some time ago, but it is just a matter of determination It came out like this:
  22. Finally, some building progress... I spent about half an hour scratchbuilding the new steering wheels, some control boxes, cabin floor (I'm not going to fit the seats so I don't want to have those stubs there) and drilling the instrument panel dials, but I doubt if anything would be visible once the canopy is on. I painted the interior in Red Brown according to preserved example, although the color could be also natural metal or Light Grey.
  23. Hello, I'm afraid the kit is a big disappoitment. Beside its origin (compared to Supermodel tooling - THERE ARE common features), there are many suspicius ares, like: - wrong fuselage crossection - wider canopy - wrong wing span and chord - wrong height of fin - oversimplified cowling and engine - panel lines almost on all surfaces and rivets are of sci-fi nature I don't understand the H.S. reviewer outcomes, e.g. it is as good as the Fiat CR.42. That's complete nonsence. Just my 2$... Cheers Libor
