I finished 23 kits this year, all of them 1/72.
Cheers!

Many thanks for nice feedback gents!
Ad torpedo: the kit's item is a bit crude, so I rebuilt it using plasticard.
TonyOT: thanks again, that photo is on the very first page of the article above.
Cheers and Happy New Year to all!

This Albacore kit was originally my FAA group build entry; unfortunately, due to other commitments I was not able to finish it on time. Anyway, during my Christmas holidays I worked on it hardly and finished it in last few days.
BF 723 is 826 NAS machine operating in Hal Far, Malta in 1942/43.
MPM kit built with few addditions, like modified twin gun mount, ASV aerials and other extra details. Markings came from Tally-Ho and Xtradecals sheets.
I would like to express my thanks to Mr. Tony O'Toole for his excellent article in Model Aircraft Monthly (July 2007) which became the main reference material and my major driving force.

Thanks everyone for comments!
gareth: about 20 built and many many more waiting in the boxes...

Miggers: thanks for the info, I'll remember this at my next Mk.XIX.

alex: yes, I did, this process shows the last picture.

Hi chaps,
on Saturday we had a 'plastic session' with my club fellows and the aim was to build a kit in a day. Due to various circumstances (drinks, girls etc) nobody eventually succeeded, but I was able to finish the kit on the next day, so here is the result. The total net building time was about 10 hours.

Good scale drawing features Polish Monografie Lotnicze book.

Hi Max, sorry to hear about your troubles, mine fitted pretty well.
I cut off the nose along the line just in front of the windshield where the cross sections of both fuselages matched with almost no tolerance. The lower ugly joint is hidden under the tropical filter - that is the reason I went for desert machine

Thanks gents!

stevehnz: the Azure Blue is Gunze Mr.Color 370 from the RAF set.

Hi all,
recently I bought the Hobbyboss kit, unfortunately shape of the nose make the kit almost useless. So I tried to save it taking the complete nose from good old Heller kit as well as landing gear, propeller, exhausts etc. The decal come from Skymodel sheet, it is one of the four Hurricanes that Lady Mac Roberts bought for the RAF.

Many thanks to everone and greetings to all Kevs!

On to the questions:
- it was sprayed with mix of Alclad II Semi-matte Aluminium and Gunze light grey and at the end it get a light overspray of Semi-matte lacquer varnish
- from the building point of view the kit is not particularly easy, especially fit of the wing to fuselage is really bad
I forgot to mention, as Tony OT pointed out, it is W/C Frank Carey personal machine based in 1948 in Fassberg, Germany.

Hi all,
out of the box build.

Thanks. Yes, I used the curved centre section, I think the thickness is not a big deal if the canopy is closed. The gun barrels are brass turned, they are included together with the decals in the Kagero book.

Hi all,
'out of the box' build using Kagero Topdrawings decals.
I./SKG210 machine from eastern front, 1942.

Thank you!

Hello walrus, didn't know either, but the Dalrymple&Verdun book on the FAA camouflages features some nice shots of this plane, so I could't resist...

Hi all,
a small update - just finished the MPM Fulmar so I put them together. Now just the Mk II, NF and a captured French one

Thanks for your comments gents!

Trojan Thunder: thanks for update! Would be nice to have the PC-9 kit in recent 4.sq marking sitting in the display case next to the Wirraway.
Julien: The colors are mixed from Gunze H paints and the mixing ratios are taken (approx.) from 1/48 Wirraway MPM's instructions.

Hello,
my latest effort built as entry to Aussie 39-45 group build on our local forum. It´s old MPM kit from the 90´s with many scratchbuilt and reworked items.
If you are interested, you can see the building progress on this LINK
I guess the size and color of the fuselage letter and the serial may not be 100% correct, but I left it as it was. Oh, forgot to mention it´s 4.sq. RAAF plane of J.Archer/J.Coulston who shot down a Zero fighter - an unique and sole kill of Wirraway during WWII.

Hi Wooksta, the Spitful is not a rip as both guys (AZ Models and CMR) cooperare on regular basis.
Btw, I can ask tomorrow on E-Day the author of the master patterns (hopefully I'll survice as he is originally a butcher

Thanks for comments chaps!

Hi Maxidad, due to my other commitments the progress is somewhat slow, but lately I added the landing gear and I'm going to attach the canopy. Pictures will follow soon.
Omegaman, the Interior Green is Gunze Mr.Color 364 from the Interior colors pack.

The fuselage is now closed and wings added. I also made the new position lights from clear plastic and drilled the wingfold grabs.

Hi,
this is how my 1/72 Sabre Mk 4 turned out using Academy F-86F-30. Decals come from Modeldecal sheet MD097, the roundels and letters are from Xtradecals and Modeldecal sheets.
Great reference is Duncan Curtis's book "The Canadian Sabre in RAF Service, Sutton Publishing, 2005".

Thanks everyone for nice comments!

Tonyot: I like this scheme too, in my 'to do' pile is the Beaufort now. Good luck with your Beau, look forward to seeing it finished!
peebeep: it's not a magazine subject, just a result of 'whispering death summer duel' with my club mate.
alex: I added just rivets according to Datafile scale plans

Thanks!
Well, time is always an issue, but I somehow managed to do the modelling daily, even it is just ten minutes.
The Tempest II is Special Hobby kit.
Last three kits they did not appear in the overview:
