  1. Once MPM staff is back from Nueremberg I'll investigate more and post here info about intended camouflage options and other reboxings, if any. I belive the FRROM range is custom made for a French customer and it is not exclusively focused on French or Rumanian subjects, there are Yugoslavian IK-2 and IK-3 kits, Brazil and Argentinian Fw 58 and maybe others. Usually, the kits follow the type coverage in a French magazine which I suspect is run by the same person as FRROM brand.
  2. Well, Graham, I would suggest most people do not care whether FRROM or Special Hobby, they just simply enjoy there is a state of the art plastic kit of this beast. I'm going to buy at least two, hope there will be enough left for me. What about you? Sometimes the model bussines is run under odd circumstances that we, as final consumers, can not even guess. Cheers Libor
  3. Definitely not, its Azur (i.e. made by MPM) tooling.
  4. To cjhm: MIG Production neutral / dark wash or my own mix of black/brown oil paints
  5. Right, they have the other versions in the pipeline, just look at the clear sprue that will be common for all kits:
  6. To Nick: yes, in my opinion its very accurate kit. Thanks everyone fo comments! Cheers Libor
  7. Hello, having just bought the new AZ Model Seafires Mk.Ib kits, I'm not particuarly happy with the proposed markings options (repeating&well-known "K" and Hamilton plus some second-line machines), so perhaps anybody may have better thoughs, preferably on operational (e.g.801.NAS) machines? References to any sources (books, magazines) would be also appreciated! Thanks, Libor
  8. No, it's the other company. But they are pretty good too.
  9. It's from a post war Czechoslovak movie indeed. Cheers Libor
  10. Yes, they are too narow. The Quickboost wheels do require some surgery on the legs. But if you can live with narrow wheels, go ahead and give it a go out of the box (as I did).
  11. Hello, this is ex-Heller kit released by Smer about 10 years ago with some etched. I updated the cockpit, wheel wells and some surface details. The RS-82 rockets come from AML set as well as the decals for captain Batunin machine (Hero of USSR, 9 victories). Cheers Libor
  12. Hi, this is just to illustrate the narrow undercarriage, it is really a pain in the *** , but still better option than strugling with MPM kits. Btw, there are replacement wheels available from Quickboost, but you need to rework the legs and their attachment ponts. Optionally, you can reply to any critique these are "experimental tube less bicycle style tyres used at concrete runways" Trumpeter kit
  13. Pavla and Sword are completely different toolings. Last year I built the Heller kit and now I'm in the process of building both Pavla and Sword for a comparison review, in my opinion (so far!) the Sword takes the lead as it goes together easier and offers slightly more details. The Heller kit is still pretty nice, however it has some ugly features and needs more work. Btw, I've heard the original Heller toolings were destroyed, so maybe that's the reason it hasn't been re-boxed in last years - perhaps anybody can confirm this? Heller kit:
  14. Yes, I'm quite sure, its new tool. The DC-9 is original Fly kit, the Swiss version appeared under AZ Model label.
  15. Here is scan of their latest ad in a local modelling mag.
  16. Hi, Czech company Fly anounced for 2011 a whole range of Whitley bomber in 1/72 scale - Mk.I//III/V. I will post more details once available. Cheers Libor
  17. Easy with just few little things, but more in the article.
  18. I think so, at least couple of period pictures show the four spoke weels (including plane I built) on "early" machines.
  19. Hi, thanks chaps! For Martin, the only common feature with the Admiral kit is that's Spit Mk.22, otherwise completely different kit For Ed Russell: Murphy's law, but good job on both. Now you should start one of these: Seafire Mk.XV, XVII, 46 or 47
  20. Hello, my first this year, built OOB except the rockets. More info should appear in a future issue of MAI. Cheers Libor
  21. Thank you John, that's an interesting info! My concern appeared when I checked a new Spitfire 22 kit, because the propeller diameter did not match the information I found in the Datafile Part 2: Griffon Powered Spitfires and 4+ Spitfire Mk.21/22/24 book; both state the Mk.21 (and I understand this apply to Mk.22 too) ) had a new 11 feet (3350mm) propeller. So that's why I'm curious who is right - the kit manufacturer or reputable books? Cheers Libor
  22. Hi, thanks. Anyway, that's exactly why I'm asking, various sources including web state various figures, so I thought somebody can prove that from a reliable source, not from the web. Thanks Libor
