Hi Trev, you are right, just wanted to pointed out this item was missing in the kit. Thank all for comments! Cheers Libor

Hi folks, I took a quick exercise on the brand new Eduard kit from "Library" edition. The kit would need few touches here and here, for instance thinning the inlet ring, exhaust nozzle, adding the front altimeter antennas, but the overall fit and level of details is very promising. I will add later the drop tanks once the "overtrees" becomes available. Cheers Libor

Redboost replied to Redboost's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
Thanks chaps, much appreciated! :-) Hope it will help too! Anyway, do not hesitate to contact me via PM should you have any questions. Hallo Roman! Yes, the kit was riveted in my usual fashion (in the Surfacer, not in the bare plastic) with Rosie the Riveter tool. The paints are Gunze Aqueous throughout, as follows; Light Blue Grey H67+H325 (50:50) Brown H17 Khaki Green H80 Grey H307 Hope it helps! Cheers Libor -
Dewoitine D.520 1/72 RS Model

Thanks for all kind comments gents, happy you like the kit! I made just a brief side by side comparison for my article as I built the Hasegawa kit long time ago and I don't remember much... Anyway, can't help myself, but the RS Mode suits better to my fresh memories (and photos) of my recent visit at Le Bourget. Also, I had in my stash the correction set for the Hasegawa kit which addressed the wrong shape/size of the radiator bath, which seems to be OK on the RS Model and also the rear fuselage does not look so skinny. However, the RS Model kit is obviously 'based' on the Hasegawa, but it was reworked and aside the aforesaid it has better cockpit and wheel bays as well. Cheers Libor -
Hi folks, this is one of my first projects finished this year, specially commissioned for the upcoming Valiant Wings title North Africa Campaign. This RS Model effort is in my opinion one of their finest lately. The markings were combined of several decals sheets leftovers to depict the last D.520 (No.300) this famous French ace flown before converting to P-39 and his unfortunate death. Cheers Libor

Agree. On my second build I addressed that with CMK resin flaps as the kit seems to be pre-designed to accept them (in other words this needed just few cuts and the flaps fitted inside like a glove). -

Correct, flown by Clive Caldwell at certain time frame. If you mean the fuselage roundels, these seems to be partially overpainted with Middle Stone applied over original Dark Green (seen mostly on Mk.I/IA deliveries). Thanks again for comments gents! Cheers Libor -

Thanks everyone for comments! cger: the under surfaces seems to be a bit dark on the period shots. Special Hobby suggested Dark Mediterranean Blue, which I mixed from Gunze H328 + some medium blue. Jason: good choice, that's one of my suggestions too:-) Michael: honestly, I did have enough time to compare it, this obviously waits for some of "virtual" modelers among us :-) But can't see any disturbing features of this kit; there are some minor things to be pointed out, but nothing really serious. Cheers Libor -
Hi folks, this is the brand new Special Hobby kit quickly assembled over the past few days. It was very pleasant modelling experience and in fact my second P-40 kit from Special Hobby I had the privilege to built (will post the P-40K later on). We have a new title from Valiant Wings to be announced soon which will include, among the others, a full-build article of this kit. Cheers Libor

Thanks for comments chaps and wish everyone Merry Christmas! Cheers Libor -
Hi fellow modellers, one of my last builds this year, the Eduard 'Wurger'. Opted the markings for one of the best Austrian pilots, Walter Nowotny, who flew this machine on autumn 1943 on the eastern front. Cheers Libor

Hawker Hurricane Mk I 1/72 Hasegawa
Redboost replied to Redboost's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
Thanks everyone for comments, glad you like these colours too! Mitch K: personally speaking yes, for me the best metal wing Mk.I. There kit lacks detail in some areas and the fabric's sag on the fuselage is a bit overdone, bit really nothing that bothers me that much. Really can't understand why Airfix haven't come with theirs... Cheers Libor -
Hi folks, this is yet another addition to my growing Romanian AF collection. The Hasegawa kit was built OOB and the markings are combination of fabulous Radu B. decals and my own masks. Hurricane No.7 of Escadrila 53 was flown by Andrei Radulescu who claimed 3 kills (I-153) on 30 June 1941. After the initial campaign on the eastern front the remaining Romanian Hurricanes were sent for overhaul and were no longer used in the first line due to lack od spares and to avoid mistakes for AA gunners with Soviet Hurricanes. Cheers Libor

Hi folks, this is another quick addition to my IAF collection, the old 'n' good Hasegawa kit built OOB except CMK resin wheels and an ordnance taken from my spares box. The decals for 105.sq. machine from Operation 'Kadesh' comes from DP Casper sheet. Cheers Libor

Thanks again, gents! Roman: good luck then! :-) Don't forget to arm yourself with good references, I can recommend either of Radu Brinzan books. See you in BA soon! :-) Cheers Libor

Thanks for comments lads, much appreciated! Steve: don't worry, such a struggler won't sell out quickly:-) Hope Trumpy may scale it down one day... Courageous: it's Gunze H24 Orange Yellow applied on light grey Surfacer. In reality it has a slight orange tint in it, but the photo-lights suppressed this effect a bit. Cheers Libor

Hi fellow modellers, this is one of my long term projects I recently got finished. Whilst the original kit is pretty spot on as far as the main airframe specifics are concerned, the mouldings suffered from poor moulding quality. That means I completely reworked the surface, rescribed the panel lines and added the rivets. Most of details as cockpit, engine, canopy, undercarriage etc. were scratch built or heavily modified. The decals come from fabulous Radu B. decal sheet and since I was building one of the earlier machines with 4-guns wing, I opted for "42" which wore the unit score. Flown in August 1941 on Eastern Front by Escadrila 42/52, Grupul 5 Vanatoare. Cheers Libor
