Hello from Berlin (Germany),
I'm 43 years old and started modelling something like 4 years ago. I'm a very slow builder, because I'm doing a lot of research for my projects. And even if I have all information, I often don't have that much time to turn it into reality. But who cares, time does not matter to me, as long as I'm enjoying it. Nobody presses me.
My first serious project was the Revell (Heller) Bentley Blower 1:24.
Afterwards I finished the Eduard Messerschmitt Bf 109 E-3 1:32
With the Messerschmitt my interest in airplanes started. During the built I discovered beautiful Wingnut Wings models, and I fell in love with the Jeannin Stahltaube. I did a lot of researches, bought literature. In Berlin we have the only surviving Jeannin Stahltaube in the "Deutsches Technikmuseum". I contacted them and gratefully they provided me some special pictures. But I have to admit, it is a very demanding project, I never would have thought.
Status now is, that the project Stahltaube is in its 13th month. I just discovered this forum and saw a lot of very beautiful (Stahltaube) models. Therefore I hope to get useful advices and information from WW1 specialists. I still have some unanswered questions.
Have a nice day!
Best Regards
Rafael
