  1. It went on very well actually. You have to cut it anyway cos its too long. It was practically the last item I fitted. Glued one end to wheel sprocket, threaded it round the drive sprocket and glued the other end. Looks OK. I did paint it gold, but it just flaked off so I left it black.
  2. Its 40 year old, its the old Protar kit. But yes it goes together beautifully. There are a couple of errors in the instructions mind. When building the cylinders, don't build 4 the same like it implies, they are handed. Two of them need the cylinder head on the opposite way. And when building the rear shocks don't use decal 36 like it says, use decal 37. Apart from that its a lovely detailed kit. There will be a build article in an upcoming Model Car and Motorcycle World mag.
  3. Thats different and a great build. 🖕
  4. While being known for building trucks, I'm also a biker, so when Italeri re-released the old Protar kit of the RG500 (XR27) in 1/9 scale, I couldn't really refuse. Built more or less from the box.
  5. Take a look at the Leyland Marathon post a but further down...
  6. Thats different 🖕 I'd maybe have added some plasticard details
  7. Oh thats a beauty. How did you do the wooden dashboard? And what is the gold colour on the instrument panel?
  8. OK I'm calling this finished. Heller Scania 141 cut down to 111 day cab. Not sure I'd attempt this again. Its an absolute **** to do. You lose quite a lot of structural integrity and the mauling the cab gets while you're rebuilding everything makes for a poor finish 😒.
  9. I like that, the red over gold works well.
  10. Det er fremragende. Jeg har ikke set en T cab 141 før. Er du pa Facebook? I så fald mød gerne ind 'Truck Modelling Wordwide' group.
  11. I have too. Watching it with interest. I have a 250 C15 (in about 1000000000 pieces lol). Also a family connection to BSA. My mam is from Birmingham.
  12. Yeah I'm on here mate but I don't post much. More for the odd armour stuff I do.
  13. Thats a lovely job. What kit is it?? I remember when the CBX came out. I was about 14 but already a subscriber to Which Bike. Current ride is a Triumph Bonneville America. I take it you've seen Alan Millyard's Kawasaki version?
  14. Its a lovely kit actually. I usually work in 1/24 scale but I picked this up cheap. Detail is bloody good, in fact you have to be a bit careful, I broke a couple of very small pieces.
  15. One or two! If you're a Facebook user look for the 'Truck Modelling Worldwide' group there's loads of truck modellers on there
  16. It was a WWII cargo truck. Livery is immediately post war based on an old photo I had.
  17. OK so take an ICM Leyland Retriever kit and civilianise it 🙃 1/35 scale
  18. Its totally scratchbuilt with the exception of the wheels, springs and mudguards which were donated by a fellow truck model builder.
