  1. That's what I was thinking - some distortion is probably the payoff for the thinness of the mouldings. Cheers, Mark
  2. What an absolute pain in the behind! Quite a few of my Eduard kits have fuselage halves that have a touch of the banana about them - inline-engined types like the P-51 and Spit. Hope the crack is an easy fix! Cheers, Mark
  3. Great work on the wings, Mark, and interesting to note how not all of the panel lines within the "accepted area" were puttied after all! I'll be very interested to see how they turn out under a coat of alu' lacquer. Cheers, Mark
  4. Superb work on the cockpit and wheel bay, looking fantastic! Cheers, Mark
  5. Great progress there! I agree about etch - it's an absolute *B*! Cheers, Mark
  6. Superb Sea Gladiator work, Chris, the Mercury is looking incredible! Great to see the Dub is back together and gracing the highways and byeways once again - cracking work there, too! Cheers, Mark
  7. Welcome aboard, chaps - those are two great-sounding projects which I'm looking forward to seeing! Cheers, Mark
  8. This is one absolutely superb B-25, Alistair, you must be well pleased with how she's turned out! Great build thread, great work all round! Cheers, Mark
  9. Wow, Martin! That is outstanding! The bespoke decals are excellent and set off the whole scheme. Brilliant! Cheers, Mark
  10. That's a splendid Spitfire - I do like that scheme! Two gorgeous builds.
  11. Beautiful Sea Fury, CC, looking lovely in it's dark blue with all those extras! Cheers, Mark
  12. That's a beauty, Steve, stunning work through and through! Cheers, Mark
  13. I did the self same thing - they seem particularly brittle. A bit of Evergreen or Plastruct rod, or some brass wire, will get it sorted in no time. Cheers, Mark
  14. Super work on the cockpit, Rob, the area behind the seat looks really great, very convincing! All round great work knocking this into shape. I know what you mean about rescribing and I feel your angst. Cheers, Mark
  15. My bundle arrived today 😁 Mk.IIB+Mk.IIC+Sea Hurri Mk.IIC. Very, very happy and looking forward to building them. Thank you, Arma! My only quandary is that I'd planned to build the Mk.IIB as an ML-KNIL example in the Asia GB, but one of the box schemes is a Church Stanton-based aircraft, and Church Stanton is near where I grew up! Cheers, Mark
  16. Excellent review, Mike, thank you! Cheers, Mark
  17. Thanks, yes I'd spotted that but I'm not really in the market for a Mk.IX at the moment, and as we're gearing up to move house soon I don't want to be buying more kits at the moment! I might try a want ad and see if anyone's got one sitting in a spares box! Cheers, Mark
  18. Brilliant, thanks, that's great! I just need to find an Aerovee carb intake now! Cheers, Mark
  19. Great progress, Pappy, this is really coming along very nicely! I love the extra details - the scratch built reflector gunsight is great, but I didn't realise the ring and bead was retained too. Looking forward to your next update! Cheers, Mark
  20. Cracking job, JB, that's an excellent Mustang! Great to see a camo'd version and the ID stripes were worth the perseverance! This has been a great build to follow Cheers, Mark
  21. The Seafire is looking amazing, Chris, absolutely superb! Shame about the canopy but good to know you've got a replacement already in place. This has been a great build to follow with lots of inspiration Cheers, Mark
  22. Looks fantastic, Chris, I'll bet you're glad you persevered? You're a master at these TT schemes! Cheers, Mark
  23. So, as a follow-up to my questions just above, does anyone know if after market Spitfire Aerovee carb intakes and Mk.IX props are available in 1/48 scale? Ultracast make prop blades and spinner for the Eduard Mk.IX, but use the kit backplane. Cheers, Mark
