  1. Hi to all. A few weeks ago I finished this kit, AMK's MiG-31BM. I Painted the entire kit with AK real Color RC336 MiG-25/31 grey. The dielecrtic panels of rhe nose cone , front fuselage and vertical fins with dark grey from Tamiya's acrylic, XF-24. I decided to use the kit's decals. I hope you like it. Best regards, Pablo
  2. I added the 27 cooling petals in the each engine exhaust, I think Eduard could have make this detail no so difficult. Final result: The real thing: I hope you like it. Regards, Pablo
  3. In the bathtub piece I added some details of ribs, supplements and map holders that have on the sides, for a molding issue, they come smooth. To the front post lever I added a cam that goes in front of the handle. After securing the fit, I primed with A.MIG-2023 black one shot primer and applied the AMIG-223 interior turquoise Green acrylic. I marked the recesses with the products that this set recommends, AMIG-1505 Gray for Yellow Sand and AMIG-1008 Dark Wash, I painted pink stripes to simulate that sealing putty. I chose to use the decals from the AMK improvement set and not the pre-painted photo-etched parts from Eduard because it seems to me that there is a difference in tones between the color of this and the one I applied and they lose a bit of a sense of volume. The decals adapted very well to the surface of the boards. I applied matte varnish, used the dirt products and finally used drops of gloss varnish on the instruments and screens. I added the pre-painted belts from Eduard's set to the seats. I also added some laser printed maps and brochures. The pieces inside the domes come smooth, in different references you can see that they have a fabric, to simulate this, I added aluminum foil to which I painted Tamiya XF-5 green, the parts without fabric, I left them turquoise green. I proceeded to assemble the rest of the plane, resulting in a beautiful engineering product, where I really used very little putty. I appreciate Mike's article on assembling this kit, I relied mostly on it. Thanks a lot, @Mike Regards, Pablo
  4. Hi to all. I've just finished this kit, enormous btw. The AMK's MiG-31BM no 880033. I decided to add some after bits: - Eduard PE no 49 752 mainly to detail the belts and engine area, - Resin wheels ,Eduard no. 648 248; - AMK improvement set, n° 88003U, consisting of metal landing gears, extra photo-etched parts, extra decals and a set of tinted transparents. Following the instructions, I started with the engines, to which I added Eduard's photo-etched parts for the afterburner basket. I painted the metal parts with Krylon spray and marked the recesses with a MiG dirt set. In some areas I painted those pink stripes formed with Humbrol 70 lightened with white, some panels I painted with a green from Revell 362 I hope you like it Regards, Paablo
  5. Hi to all. I am pleased to show you this finished kit. It is the H asegawa's Bf 109F-6/U "Galland special, # 09521. I tried to depict one of the F versions modified by Galland. I hope you like it. Best regards, Pablo
  6. Meanwhile the decal stage, I start to have some troubles, only with both blach crosses on the upper wing and one on the upside. They cracked just when I moved it on to the correct possition. I had to erase them because I couldn't take them off. So I repainted the area and used an insignia decal set from Eduard, only for the upper crosses, for the uderside cross I decided to paint it because this particular aircraft had a bigger one compared with the standard F series markings. The rest of the Hasegawa's decals went without any truble. Regards, Pablo
  7. I started the paint process with Ammo MiG grey primer and a black preshading. I decided to try the Vallejo color range. It seemed to me a little dark hue, so I decided to add some white drops in each RLM colours: RLM 02 and 66 for the wheels legd sud wells and cockpit respectively, 04 (yellow), 76 (light blue grey), 74 (dark grey green), 75 (grey-violett) and some spots in the fuselage and propeller with 70 (black green) Regards, Pablo
  8. I decided to remark all the rivets with a Rossie the riveter tool. Also replaced the solid wing tip navigation lights with transparent plasctic sprue bits, sanded and polished. Regards, Pablo
  9. Hi to all. I started this lovely kit, the Galland special Bf 109F-6/U, wich acually was a F-2 model with some Galland's personal modifications, as the adittion of MGFF 20 mm cannons in the middle of both wings, plus a bulge that covers the drum magazine. For depict this model, Hasegawa cleverly adds the cannon tips in white metal and the underwing magazine covers in PUR. I took care of gluing a plastic piece as a limit for the metal pieces of the wnig mounted cannons. I used a resin cockpit of muy spare box, I don´t remember the brand. I also added a door with its fixinng strap in the back of the cockpit. I added a set of photoetched seat belts form my spare box too. I hope you like it. Regards, Pablo
  10. Hi to all. Finally I finished this beautiful aircraft, one of my fafourites modern ones. Is the Revell kit 04517. It represents the Rafale M n° 15, Flottille 11F French Navy NATO Tiger Meet 2014, Airfield Schleswig AB (ETNS), Germany. This particular aircraft has marks of dropped bombs during the operation Harmattan, Lybia 2011. The construction link is here: I hope you like it. Best regards, Pablo
  11. I finally finished it a few weeks ago, after a long, long time. I hope you like it! Let me know if you see any flaw. I promise later take better pictures. Greets! Pablo
  12. Finally I applied grey Ammo MiG one shot primer, and made some preshading with black. Later I applied the monochrome scheme, Tamiya's dark sea grey XF-54. Later I applied Aqua gloss clear barnish for the decals. I think this made a little bit dark the base colour. I decided to represent the Rafale M number 15 at 2014 Tigermeet. This particular machine has a few "kill marks" on it, they are from bombs dropped in Operation Harmattan, Libya 2011. The fuel tanks tiger scheme was a real challenge, because I found some pictures where I noticed this white and black stripes were in some places hard edges and in some place. soft edges. I decided to mask with Uhu tac putty. Decals were applied without issue. I sealed the whole model with Testor's acrilyc matt barnish and maked the panel lines with Ammo MiG products. Later I painted with a lighter grey the anti-slip stripes on both sides of the cockpit helped with the mask included in the Syhart's decals set.
  13. Ataching the air intake pieces, please take care of a prominent gap. I filled with a plastic strip and putty. Also you must take care of a little gaps between fuselage and wings, the APU exhaust zone, the Wolfpack's resin nosecone and a pair of shrinkage on the wing's slats and the arresting hook. I added a pair of plastic as a bumper guard because I was affraid the resin exhausts pieces could pass inside. I detailed up the external fuel tanks with plastic and metal as drain valves or something like that. I tinted the canopy and windshield with a mix of Tamiya's smoke and translucent yellow.
  14. I wish that ladder would have been available back in 2017 when I built it.
  15. Later, I scratch build the integrated ladder and the footrest. Added some details in the fuel probe, drain tube and fotrest well. I added hidraulic hoses in the landing gears. The resin sets are quite accurate and add nice details, mainly the french L'Arsenal set for the GBU-12 with the french bombs body (quite different witn the mk 82 body) and the Damocles pod, different with an old french targeting pod. I hope you like it. Regards, Pablo
  16. I added some plumbing with wires in the whells wells and an hydraulic reservoir in tne nose gear well. I tried to simulate the air intakes channels with both preformed metallic foils. I added weight in the nose with a few bearing rollers. I painted and detailed up all the cockpit with my old Rotring 0.1 mm with white ink. I added details to the rear of the fuselage like reinforcements and sawtooth panels missing in the kit. Then I replaced the main landing light in the leading edge of the left wing. Greets, Pablo
  17. Hi to all. I started several years ago this Revell kit, (n° 04517). I finished it a few days ago. It is a nice kit of a beatiful modern aircraft. I decided to add some extra detail from aftermarket accesories and scratch build. When I noticed, I realized I added too much extra detail on it... This is the (extense) list of aftermarket added: Resins: Wolfpack 48175 (Dassault Rafale C/M Cockpit set) Wolfpack 48190 (Rafale SNECMA M88-2) Wolfpack 48034 (Dassault Rafale B/M Standard F2 set (for Revell 1/48) L’Arsenal AC-48-29 (Multi task designation pod Damoclès for Rafale jet fighter) L’Arsenal AC 48-58 (Bombe GBU 12 avec corps CBEMS 250 pour Rafale 1/48) PE sets: Eduard 48284 and Eduard FE958 Decals: Syhart 48-079 Rafale M n°27 Tigermeet 2014 Flotille 11F When I added the resin sets, I realized the plastic oarts replaced was as good as the resin aftermarket. It was too late to regret. I hope you like it. Regards, Pablo
  18. Hi folks! After 3 weeks, I finally ended this kit, a true record for me! I only added prepainted photoetched seatbelts, and a few scratch detail in the cockpit and wheel wells, you can see the build process here: I hope you like it. Best regards, Pablo
  19. Hi Folks. I applied white primer, AK laquer, later I preshaded with raw sienna liquitex ink. Later, I painted with Tamiya white and Vallejo light gull grey. The twelve 250 lbs bombs was painted with olive drab XF-62 and lightened with khaki drab XF-51, both of tamiya acrylics. The antiglare panel was painted in anthracit grey, from revell acrilics, number 36109. Then, I varnished the entire kit with Micro gloss for apply the decals, some were a bit thick. Finally, I applied a few coats of Micro matt varnish for the last touch of dirt and leakages form the engine over drop tanks. I discretelly accentued the panel lines with oils. The big exhausts stains were airbrushed with anthracite grey and raw sienna ink. I hope you like it. Regards, Pablo
