  1. I imagine the trimaster one is very good as well, but this one I think is a little more detailed.
  2. I have to display it that way cause of this site's refusal to allow you to directly upload photos. If you'd like to see bigger, better quality photos you can check them out on my Instagram @ofmodelsandmonsters or my Facebook @David Peckham
  3. It's a night fighter. If you can see it than it's not doing it's job 😉
  4. The Lady in the Dark takes to the night sky. Just finished GWH or Lion Roar's (whatever they prefer to be called) 1/48 Northrop P-61B Black Widow. This kit was quite nice to put together, well detailed, fit was good for the most part. I did find some design choices questionable such as the lack of a wing spar and wobbly landing gear placement but despite that I enjoyed working on this subject and yes, I would not have painted it any other color than black. Check out the full build here on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qwqRK7pm27M
  5. I've skipped ahead in the build where I have now painted and just about assembled the interior. Just wanted to post this before I close it up.
  6. I've already built two straight American aircraft, so logically I should build one more. My next task will be the lady in the dark herself, Great Wall Hobby's (or Lion Roar's take your pick) 1/48 Northrop P-61B Black Widow. It looks very nice so far, there are some problematic sink marks and small amounts of flash but generally a good looking kit and we'll see how the build goes.
  7. No they did not. There were lots of sink marks here that needed to be either filled or sanded off.
  8. 80 years past, the momentum shift in the pacific war known as Midway was fought and this obsolete, yet valiant machine helped to turn the tide, or at least it tried. After building a Japanese subject for the Pearl Harbor anniversary I figured I'd switch sides for Midway. This was Academy's rebox of the Accurate Miniatures kit and although the detail was nice, it didn't seem to go together that well in places, plus the instructions weren't 100 percent clear at all times. Nevertheless it's done, I can finally relax and re-stress myself again with the next build. https://youtu.be/JlDyq231ZMk
  9. Muchas gracias. Being a Revell kit from the 90s it's okay. There's definitely better kits out there, this was just donated to me by my employer.
  10. Lucky I got this finished before May considering I got sick and didn't feel like modelling for a good week. Anyway in lieu of Top Gun Maverick releasing soon I felt my timing was good to finish this in the tail end of April. This kit was free from my employer (by the way if you're ever in Toronto feel free to drop by Sunward Hobbies and say hello) so this build was to showcase some of our in store products. This kit was okay, not great; there was some flash here and there as well as a noticeable lack of instrument decals & I admittedly sped things up a little near the end but it's done, so you can judge how it turned out. And now for the plug https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_DQ89DIgj24
  11. I guess it's worth at least trying to write to them and see what happens. I don't have any direct relatives from England, but my last name is Peckham lol. Thanks again.
  12. Do you feel the need? This kit was generously donated to me by my employer Sunward Hobbies and will be my next build. This will be a slight change for me as I stick mostly to pre cold war subjects but a change of pace is always welcome. The kit looks straightforward and shouldn't take too long to complete (I sure hope so as June will be a very busy month for my channel). Check back in soon to see the progression of the build.
  13. Thanks for the info, I'm not quite sure yet exactly which field I would like to apply for. I currently work at a hobby store in Toronto doing low level tasks like cashier and shipping online orders. I'm very interested to exploring the industry further however, as well as discovering new parts of the world as I have never stepped foot outside North America.
