  1. One of the best Tigers I have seen. Love the very subtle weathering. May I ask how you achieved it? Also, where do you get the bases? Thanks Andy
  2. It wasn't as bad as I thought mate, it didn't take the paint as well as I thought it would but it didn't prove much of a problem. I'll be getting the photo etch from now on!
  3. Here is my second lock-down build and essentially my second scale model ever. The Tamiya King Tiger 1/35. All questions, criticisms and advice welcome.
  4. Here is my Tamiya King Tiger thus far. Waiting on paints from ebay to get the camo done. I've done what I can for now. Looking forward to getting it properly painted and weathered.
  5. Hi all, Just found a bunch of my old enamel paints and was wondering what sort of ratio of paint to thinner I should be using in order to make a decent wash. Also can I use washes for the likes of streaking grime etc? Should I coat my acrylic painted model in Flat Clear before adding wash? All advice is welcome. Thanks in advance.
  6. I made the purchase. Thanks for all the advice guys. I will post the finished tank in due time.
  7. I'm thinking this set will do the trick. https://www.super-hobby.com/products/King-Tiger-Henschel-TAMIYA.html
  8. Thanks for the advice. I'll look further into it. However I must admit, I am reluctant to spend any more money than I already have.
  9. Thanks for the advice guys. I just purchased the King Tiger. I see a lot of guys buy the after market photo etched grills etc, is it worth bothering?
  10. Thanks for your input. I'm leaning more towards the King Tiger, seems like more of an enjoyable build from the research I have done.
  11. I've recently just completed my first 1/35 tank, it was a Tamiya Tiger Ausf E (Pictures below). My dilemma is this, I am sitting at my computer screen looking at the Tamiya King Tiger (Production Turret) 1/35 and the Tamiya Panzer IV Ausf H 1/35 and I cannot decide which one to purchase. Any advice or nudge in the right direction would be much appreciated.
  12. Superb King Tiger. Quality job on the camo and weathering. I'm thinking of purchasing the Tamiya King Tiger or Tamiya Panzer IV Ausf H for my next build however after seeing this I'm leaning more towards King Tiger.
  13. A great build. I'm particularly impressed by the camo scheme and weathering. Great work
  14. My apologies for that Echen, it should be fixed now. Thanks.
  15. Hi all, I decided that this lock-down situation would be the perfect time to take up scale modelling. I have only ever done a few 1/72 scale Airfix tanks previously and this Tamiya Tiger I was my first attempt at a 'big boy' tank. All critiques and questions are welcomed. Andimal
