  1. That's astonishing! I love it! Never seen this plane before but it looks delightful!
  2. Oh golly that is one of the coolest things I've seen in a long time! It's like the illegitimate offspring of a top secret Soviet project and Thunderbird 2! Loving the armoured vehicle driving out. Fantastic work, hats off to you sir.
  3. That's a splendid model and a great story too, thanks for sharing. Seriously long wait in the stash for the kit was obviously worth it.
  4. Oooh this looks magnificent! I love a Mossie and this is indeed a very different colour scheme. Very nicely done!
  5. That's a very fine airplane you've built. It certainly doesn't look like it was such a venerable kit in there!
  6. Looks great! I've been enjoying the Kovozavody Prostejov spitfires, may have to give this one a go next!
  7. That looks super! So clean and tidy and the weathering is really effective.
  8. Oh very cool indeed! You've really captured the movement and action!
  9. That's fantastic. I enjoyed the work in progress thread, very interesting and I learned a lot from it. The finished product is just astonishing though, hats off to you!
  10. That's fantastic! Great work, and lucky you took some photos of the cockpit before it was closed up!
  11. Awesome! I've got this dreadful idea that I should make one of every mark... This is only further encouraging that madness...
  12. That's what I thought, but the instructions were quite clear that they were not!
  13. Thanks. I was following the instructions! I may remove them though, thanks.
  14. Another Messerschmitt! A much easier kit to build than a few I've done lately, mainly by virtue of being extremely simple. The panel lines are huge, which suits my Humbrol enamels brush painting just fine. The cockpit is... spartan. I didn't bother scratchbuilding much detail other than Tamiya Tape seatbelts, which I think look rather good. You wouldn't see much through the canopy anyway. I did't glue the nosecone and front engine cowls on until after painting, so the exhausts, guns and props could be inserted at the end pre painted and avoid blotching paint on the wrong things. This one I used Humbrol Clear before and after decals, then painted the winter whitewash on, another coat of Clear then Matt Clear after an enamel wash. The decals settled on nicely. I couldn't find out much about this plane, found a few photos of these with the wasp though. Does anyone know why it was only partially whitewashed? I've also realised that I've probably overloaded it for takeoff with hugemongous drop tanks and large bombs... Hope the airfield is long! Anyway, all feedback and tips appreciated thanks!
  15. I was inspired to build this kit having seen a (much better) one of it presented on here by Vlad - the eyes are just rather splendid! It's a superb kit, the detail in the cockit is cracking, I really enjoyed making it. The only issue is the "really fine" panel line detail got a little lost in the paint: as always, Humbrol enamels and a brush, Humbrol Gloss Cote before and after decals, and Matt Cote after weathering with watercolours. The decals silvered a bit on the wing, not ideal with these late war balkenkreutz and the walkway symbols on this, and I had to go over the silvered area with a little more paint. I've started experimenting with Humbrol Clear rather than Cote, in the hopes that this makes a better surface for my decals.
  16. Splendid! I agree the coastal command scheme looks great and you've done a great job of it.
  17. Excellent work! I'm sure he'll be delighted!
