That's a '64.

On the Fosse Way yesterday, something I didn't recognise but DVLA shows as a 1927 Lea Francis. A search on the registration also turned up some images.

Depending on how nit-picky you are, there are a couple of potential problems with that: the Revell kit is a basic Custom 300, which wasn't offered as a convertible. Also, being a sedan, it has a higher roofline and a taller windscreen than the Fairlane 500 hardtops and convertibles. There are also some issues with the Revell body around the wheel arches where the old AMT '57 is more accurate... All things considered, the venerable AMT '57 Fairlane would be a better starting point for a convertible. Nice build OP. I have a stock one in the stash (and three AMTs ), will get to them one day.

On the school run this afternoon - literally, in the car park at school - a new 22 plate Ferrari. I have barely any knowledge of Ferraris newer than about 1990, but a search suggests it was an SF90 Spider (red, of course).

Unfortunately, work and family commitments haven't left me much spare time, so I've had to park this one for later.

Funny you should mention those. I have two '69 Road Runners, but one has the M/Ts and the other has stock* valve covers. Same with the two '64 Dodges: one came with M/Ts, the other with the stock ones. *IIRC the "stock" ones in the Road Runner are actually the early '64 - '65 Race Hemi shape, but I'll have to check...

It's easy to get bogged down adding details. With these old kits, you can either spend half a lifetime re-engineering it, or just accept it for what it is and try to do a nice job. Looks good from here.

One from yesterday on the A444, a "patina" (ick) Beetle, L-reg IIRC. Lowered with polished Fuchs style wheels, but somewhat let down by the Herbie decor - yes, racing stripes and 53 roundels. If the rust was faked, even worse .

Carbs are a big improvement. I wish my resin parts came out that clean. Maybe add hood pins to the rear as well, to represent a lift-off hood? Corvette hoods being front hinged, seeing them only on the front is making my OCD go crazy.

That makes sense.

How old was the truck? I've seen some restored tractor units with either no fifth wheel* or a small load bed. * There seems to be an urban myth that the fifth wheel has to be disabled somehow if using the vehicle without an operator's license.

Two this morning, a J-reg Morris Traveller and the local 1960 Ford pickup out of hibernation.

On the school run this morning, a dark green 1963 (A-reg) Karmann Ghia coupe. Cal look, *really* low.

Nice paint. I wouldn't flat a metallic - it will never look even. No problems using the standard Halfords clear over Tamiya paint in my experience. I prefer their petrol resistant lacquer over Halfords base coats, because it seems to dry harder, but I haven't tried that on a Tamiya base yet.

It was released as a Yenko Stinger in '68, so the parts should be there . A chap down the road from my parents had two Corvairs in the '70s: a white ragtop and a maroon hardtop. They seemed quite exotic at the time. I don't think I've seen even one on the road over here since.

I used it once. For me,the texture it produces seems a bit out of scale, and considering how much you can see of the floor in most completed models, I'm happy sticking with paint.

Seen on the road this morning, a Triumph 2000/2500 in fully rally getup - white, black bonnet, decals, large number '1' on the bonnet and doors. Later, looking up a company on Google street view, I found this horror:
