I will say that that part is a bit of a myth, it's no better or worse than any equivalent Ford/Vauxhall/citroen of the time, less tinny. It is better built than every italian exotic of the period... probably better built than 1970s astons in fact, as somebody who has first hand experience of said vehicles!

But yes, it's not up to modern levels of fit and finish obviously 😁

I'll concede that point - I was only ribbing.  At least it won't have rusted like an early '60s Vauxhall.   😬

Especially those with Lambo's, Ferraris, Mclarens etc who have enough money ro be above the law...

Around here it's mostly lowered Seats, Golfs and Ford RS types sporting that mod.  🙄    There's also a first generation Volvo S60 I keep seeing with no front number plate and a massive spoiler on the boot, still in gel coat.  🤣

  3. Great detailing.  I can't work with fiddly parts like that, even with magnification, so I take my hat off to you.  😎

I think the valve covers from the Monogram T'rantula SOHC are about the best you can find in a kit.   All of the AMT and MPC ones are too long and thin with clunky detail; the ones from the old IMC '48 Ford are poor, as are those in the Revell gasser kits.  These Johan ones have the right kind of proportions, but they made them symmetrical so the plug locations on the passenger side cover are way off, and they have the inside edges scalloped instead of straight.   😐

  4. While I was cooking this evening:

Stranger in Blue Suede Shoes - Kevin Ayres

    Free Your Mind...  - Funkadelic

    She's a Lover - Pretty Things

Evil Hearted Ada - Flamin' Groovies

    I Want More - Can

Inidian Rope Man - Julie Driscoll, Brian Auger & The Trinity

Ace of Spades - Link Wray

  5. I still have parts to add, but I gave it a light coat of primer to see where it needs attention.   The grilles don't look as terrible as I imagined, but still a little annoying that they're too small, when they're supposedly designed to fit the Zvezda kit.  🙄
