  1. I'll concede that point - I was only ribbing. At least it won't have rusted like an early '60s Vauxhall.
  2. And the build quality would almost certainly be better.
  3. I wasn't aware of the scale discrepancy... an interesting diversion on Wikipedia. Here's an M35 in 1/144 and in the UK: https://www.butlersprintedmodels.co.uk/10/12-mm/post-ww2-c82/usa/m35-truck-12mm.html No experience with their products, but it's cheap compared with 3D prints, albeit with the cab moulded solid by the looks of it.
  4. Just had a look at a few photos and they show a Ford C series cabover, a 1956 Ford F800 and an M35. The C series and M35 are available in N scale from the US.
  5. On some forums, that's known as "enabling". Grrr.
  6. I've been looking at that AK book online... it's tempting. I don't need it though. Or do I?
  7. Around here it's mostly lowered Seats, Golfs and Ford RS types sporting that mod. There's also a first generation Volvo S60 I keep seeing with no front number plate and a massive spoiler on the boot, still in gel coat.
  8. Great detailing. I can't work with fiddly parts like that, even with magnification, so I take my hat off to you. I think the valve covers from the Monogram T'rantula SOHC are about the best you can find in a kit. All of the AMT and MPC ones are too long and thin with clunky detail; the ones from the old IMC '48 Ford are poor, as are those in the Revell gasser kits. These Johan ones have the right kind of proportions, but they made them symmetrical so the plug locations on the passenger side cover are way off, and they have the inside edges scalloped instead of straight.
  9. Outstanding. It's inspiring and depressing in equal measure.
  10. Thanks for the explanations. I'm sure it's not as easy as you're making it look...
  11. Horrible. One might almost expect the front number plate to be relocated to the dashboard... that seems to be the fashion among people with no taste in cars around here.
  12. While I was cooking this evening: Stranger in Blue Suede Shoes - Kevin Ayres Free Your Mind... - Funkadelic She's a Lover - Pretty Things Evil Hearted Ada - Flamin' Groovies I Want More - Can Inidian Rope Man - Julie Driscoll, Brian Auger & The Trinity Ace of Spades - Link Wray
  13. Impressive weathering,especially the mud.
  14. That does look green! I have some Mig paints lined up for mine and having tested them, the Dunkelgelb looks nothing like that.
  15. Those German end opening boxes are absolutely stupid. I hate them.
  16. That really does change the look of the thing. I might have missed it, but what did you use? This pre-shading and filters lark is all new to me.
  17. Amazing. I'm going to go back and re-read the thread from the beginning.
  18. RB Models. Nice work on the interior and cutaway sections.
  19. Looks good. You're ahead of me, I've just started with the tracks on mine.
  20. I think those are the actuator rods for the handbrake. This photo might help. http://files.site-fusion.co.uk/webfusion154885/image/w3aecmatador.jpg
  21. I believe the grilles were standard fitment. AFAIK, most recently tooled 1/35 Panther kits come with PE grilles, except this one (it's cheap) and the Tamiya one (where they sell them as an accessory).
  22. I have some eligible kits, please put me down too.
  23. I still have parts to add, but I gave it a light coat of primer to see where it needs attention. The grilles don't look as terrible as I imagined, but still a little annoying that they're too small, when they're supposedly designed to fit the Zvezda kit.
