Please count me in.

Exactly - no floor that revolves with the turret, unless someone knows different?

Clever fix. I have an RFM Firefly in the pile, so you have my interest.

Sturmhaubitze 42 Ausf.G with10.5cm howitzer

Looks like a nice kit. I really want to try that method of assembling the tracks to the wheels, but I think the one I'm building is too flimsy. -
I tried Stynylrez and hated it.... same problem with poor adhesion. I went back to Halfords/Simoniz/Hycote whatever automotive primer.

I usually search for the tyre size + dimensions when I'm drawing something. https://www.petestirestore.com/23575R175-Michelin-XZE2-Commercial-Truck-Tire-14-Ply_p_12018.html Remember the 17.5 is the diameter across the beads where the tyre seats, so it doesn't include the raised lips on the wheel rim i.e. the visible wheel diameter will be larger than 17.5" by an inch or so, although in 1/144 that's kind of moot. -
1/25 Revell / Monogram Jaguar E-Type Coupe 1961
Six97s replied to Lee Chambers's topic in Ready For Inspection - Vehicles
Very nice. Even though there's an OTS version of the new tooling on the horizon, I'd still choose this one. -
Nice job. Are those the kit tyres/? They look a lot better than the old Monogram GT Radials these used to come with. I have a soft spot for this series, having built a few back in the day. The ride height was the main bugbear, I used to take the easy way out, leaving the suspension alone and relocating the axle stubs higher up. The other niggle was the 8 bolt valve covers. At least they fixed that for the Chevelle and Camaro kits that followed.
-
That's coming on nicely. I confess I left off those two tiny brass discs on the final drives... I can barely see them and I have enough trouble with PE anyway. I haven't got as far as the interior yet, but I see they've included a turret basket that oughtn't to be there.

Relieved to have the suspension finished. I managed to break three of the eight damper links, salvaged two of them, but one of the clevis ends flew off never to be seen again. I'll cobble a facsimile from plasticard when everything's set. 108 parts to get to this point.

I used to print decals with a colour laser printer. It became unreliable for other reasons, so I replaced it with a monochrome laser printer. I've run no end of decals through that. I usually print the image on plain paper then cut the decal paper to size, place it over the printed image and fix it with a small piece of tape at each corner. I've never had any problems using that method.

Got stuck in this morning. I'm still working on the suspension - it's very fiddly. That's as much as my eyes can stand for one day.
-
No, I wasn't looking to start anything either, just curious as I said. I mainly visit the AFV section and this one, so anything vehicle related posted elsewhere will pass me by.
-
That looks good. I thought the B was fiddly, but at least I only have four leaf springs to contend with.
-
Just curious - does anyone here ever visit that sub forum? I've seen a few threads locked because a thread exists down there. I've looked at it a couple of times, but I've no wish to wade through pages of aircraft discussion to find something that might only be of passing interest, so it's never going to be a regular stop for me.

Looking for scale model 2 post lift.
Six97s replied to Coloradobluesguy's topic in Vehicle Discussion
I'd be surprised if there's anything available in 1/8 scale. Considering the weight of a 1/8 model, you'd probably be better off making one from brass. -
It's my first Miniart kit. It does look good, but they like to use a lot of sprue attachment points, don't they? The flush cutters will come in handy on this one.
-
A couple I've seen mentioned on other forums, but no experience with them myself: http://www.cbtransfers.co.uk/ https://www.facebook.com/people/Dodger-Decals/100009156209138 It does. The difficulty is that you can't print white, which is what's needed in this case. You have to have something like an Alps printer.

What CAR/BIKE kits have you recently bought 2?
Six97s replied to shood23's topic in Vehicle Discussion
This is the latest version. I think it has some new parts and more appropriate wheels and tyres than some of the recent reissues. I https://round2corp.com/product/mpc-1978-dodge-monaco-chp-police-car-125-scale-model-kit/ -
Here's my entry. I don't have much free time at weekends, so it may be a few days before I can make a start.
-
I'll be following along. I'm building the same kit - will start a thread later - but my progress is likely to be slower.

Revell produced some nice kits around that time. Those '69 Camaros are among their best; I built this one from the first issue in 1991. I think I used AMT wheels and MPC Goodyear Polyglas tyres instead of the kit wheels and Michelin TRX tyres. -
Have a look here: https://ccmv.aecsouthall.co.uk/f552295240 Mainly restored vehicles, but there are a few period photos in there.

Nooo, it's a thing of beauty. Even I would draw the line at the '62 Dodge though. -
I've only seen the colours referred to as Oxford blue and cream. You might ask http://www.wythall.org.uk/ what they use on their restorations. Edit: if I had to guess, I'd look at BS381C 105 Oxford Blue and 352 Pale Cream.
