I use paper from an A2 pad, but it's seen better days... I should get some different colours.

Room for one more? Checking my eBay history, I have a few eligible candidates and a simple OOB build would make a nice change.

Progress! Mock up with the turret. I might leave these two hatches open. Not shown, more work on the tracks. Still fiddly, but going more smoothly...

I'm probably making it look like a trial, but I'm new to armour modelling. No flash on these links, but there are five attachment points to clean up on each one. The pins are moulded at the correct pitch and after a few aborted efforts with everything falling apart I found it easier to get one side in and apply cement before fitting the pins the other side. With both in, they can then be pushed fully home. Someone who's done this before would probably have at least one set finished in the time it took me.

Tracks... took me a morning to get this far. I've left cleaning up the ends of the pins until it's all set.

I've also read that Tamiya body's proportions are changed to make them appear "correct" when scaled down. To my way of thinking, it would appear correct if it were accurately scaled, but what do I know? Here's the website of the designer of the Heller kit - while he says some of their kits were drawn from one or two photos, he did own an A110, so I'd imagine that one would be accurate: https://www.tsrfcars.com/toys-heller.htm

What CAR/BIKE kits have you recently bought 2?

The Camaro and the Charger are very good. The Mustang and Cuda bodies have some problems... depends how critical an eye you have. -
Here's where I'm up to. The photo seems to show a gap at the front plate of the upper hull... better check that because I hadn't noticed. What appears to be a gap at the sides is a recess, which is there by design. Still have 15 more of those fiddly bearing caps to add to the road wheels.

Not had much spare time lately... I did get a bit more done yesterday, will update later.

Nice haul. I gather some of the AITM cabs - especially the Macks - have their roots in masters created by the late James Etter in the '70s, so they might be thicker and dare I say cruder than more recent stuff. I've seen those wheels & tyres used on other forums... enough said. I really wanted some 24" Mack spokes when I built my DM600, but ended up using 22" ones from Moluminum, which are excellent. I can vouch for KFS too, top notch. -
That does look impressive, but I'd struggle with £73 for a kit, let alone what this must have cost. Ouch!
-
Nice work. The distributor should be at the front though, as it's a late Hemi... is the kit designed to have it at the rear of the engine? Wouldn't be the first time they've screwed up, but their other Mopar kits are correct in that regard.

I've never had a problem with vinyl tyres degrading. I have had rubber tyres perish and break up, especially Revell truck tyres, but whether a coat of matt clear would have prevented that (or even adhered) I don't know. Either way, I tend not to paint tyres other than using weathering pigments.

It was an Aurora kit to begin with. One of their better efforts, unlike the E-type and Ferrari Berlinetta (both also reissued by Monogram) which are to be avoided like the plague. That looks like an interesting place to work.

Allow for 20% VAT on the order total (goods + shipping cost), plus customs clearance fees (£11 DHL, £12 Parcelforce). DHL also have a sneaky "multi line" charge - if you have more than three different HS tariffs in your shipment, they charge extra for each additional one. Fine if you only order one type of product e.g. multiple model kits, but if you were to add tools or parts, you might come a cropper. I got clobbered with an extra £18 by DHL on a mixed parcel i.e. £29 handling charges, separate from the VAT. If you only order one kit and it comes in the post, you might be lucky and not get charged; otherwise, best to allow for the above 20% + clearance fees, then you won't be unpleasantly surprised. -
I have a soft spot for Gremlins, maybe because I had a Hot Wheels Gremlin Grinder (in chrome, no less). That said, the later grille and 5mph bumpers aren't helping this one.

What is the diameter of the kit tyres? It should be a hair over 40mm (6.95-14 tyre, 25.3" OD).

I'm tempted to pick up one of these. Re the carpet - if you only have gloss paint, adding a small amount of talc will turn it matt. -
Also with Avro and no complaints here - way cheaper than the big names. Had problems years ago with E.ON, including them insisting on switching us to smart meters, which we didn't want, and subsequently having to remove them because they couldn't get a reliable signal.

If you're referring to my post, I was specifically addressing Hannant's bleating about not being able to send anything from the UK to Europe, which is patent nonsense.
-
I can't understand why they're still making a fuss. I've been sending parcels all over the world and other than a brief period of maybe two weeks where Royal Mail suspended services to Europe, it's been business as usual.

I like that first Lotus Cortina. However, if the '70 Charger is anything to go by, I wouldn't put much faith in their descriptions.

I don't know much about Astons, so I'm enjoying the research and reference photos. I wonder how many potential modellers have been put off by being presented with that deformed, flash-ridden lump as a "starter set"?
