  1. A word of caution: There us precious little space to put thr noseweight in. Plan accordingly or you'll end up with a tailsitter.
  2. As evetyone is in the voting fever, I decided to place a small poll of my own alongside the great bunfight. The idea is to have a sort o primaries for my next years GB proposal. Here are the proposals with a short description: Deltas & Flying wings: Any aircraft that flies through wing lift and does not have tailplanes and/or a tail. Canards are allowed. Nukes! : Anything used to lauch a nuke or nuclear powered. In the Commonwealth: Stuff used by any Commonwealth nation apart from the UK. ( but Uk made stuff used in the commonwealth counts!) Mudhens: Thr opposite of the Interceptor GB. Made in Germany: Anything made in Germany. South America: another great geographical GB. The great British GB: Anything British, because this is Britmodeller aftet all!
  3. Like I said, hopefully you go through. There is a surpising number of DD in any era, and even I, though I am focusing on post WWIi aircraft can thing of at least one example I could build (and mastet the art of rigging by the way).
  4. I wish you all the best for getting you proposal into next years GBs, however, I may point out, that should you not manage it, you will be able to build any DD within the "High Wing GB" as a consolation.
  5. Looking at the graph... haw about we coordibate so that all GBs end with exactly the same number of votes? I bet that would make Enzo "build them all" really happy!
  6. Just wait what happens once the tactical voting starts. Then you have the right to complain. While modelling my last plane I accidentally removed the mid section of the fuselage. I didn't fret though. it was supposed to be a Short Stirling anyway.
  7. I am aware of that. what about two equally strong polls?
  8. This is the proof that "them" are trying to nudge things to their favour 😨. Since you have to vote for at least one of the GBs in group 2 they stand a better chance to go trough than the GBs in group 1 Also I believe that you don't have to use all your nine lives/votes. This would tilt the scale very favourably to group 2 if a larger percentage of people employs this tactic. Some statisticisn correct me please if this is not the case. The best solution imo would be to have all the competitors in one poll. Failing that, I would put the GBs that got a bye from last year in a separate group. This would be mir 'fair' IMO, as it would give a slightly better chance to the old GB proposals, while keeping the playing field level fir the new GBs.
  9. @Enzo Matrix Apoarently I managed do doublepost the thread. couls this one he deleted, please?
  10. If I go by what is writtwen on the Hataka "Model Royal Air Force Paibt Set Vol. 1" then the change to the MSG scheme happend in the mid noughies. As the commemorative scheme is from 2013 you schould be fairly save assuming tge MSG variant.
  11. I think the picture says it all. I wanted to do something cool, and what is cooler than a dragon? Two dragons, obviously. Luckily Revell provides two versions of the kit. I am not sure though if I should use the Red Arrow boxing for the 1995 scheme a originally intended (due to the red plastic used for the mould) or rather switch thing around and use it for the 200q scheme as black covers red better thsn i.e. white.

  13. That is most certainly a good reason to build it! Welcome aboard!
  14. i am back in the game And since Tim did such a grwat job on comparing the Revelk/Italeri abd Airfix F.3 Tornados, I will chip in with the Hasegawa offering i. a nice Tiger Meet livery: The first thing thst struck me was that tgere are mo outer pylons for the Sidewinders provided: The second thing thst surprised me, was the detail8ng of the bang seats. That was a new one from Hasegawa for me: Next the gairly clever wing swing mechanism. Yes Hasegawa build a working swing wing a la Revell! However their approach to the wing glove deserves some praise: The cog mechanism is similar to the Revell solution (I think Revell had a long hard look at this kit - or was it the other way around) but the protring pieces in the back if the wing deserve a special mention. while the wing us swept back, they are used to limit the movement if the wing. However when the eing is swept forward they seal the opening and in order to portray the wing glove. Pretty ingenious. Another thing jumping at the modelker are the Hindenburg tanks which are huge - about 30 % bigger than Revells proposition: The instruments can be painted or decalled. I may try to place the decal o. the moulded instrument panel and then fit in in place with copious amount of decal setter. Conclusion there is a lit if light but also some shadow with this kit. My biggest gripe is the missing outer pylon. My guess is, that all (newer) Hasegawa Tornados are based on a GR. 1 Tornado with slight adjustments for other versions.
  15. Well, there appear to be a choice of watermark apps for the Iphone (just search the web or better the app store for "watermark iphone photos"), some of them apparently even free. However I am not in the position to give recommendations as I don't use an Iphone.
  16. What kind of software are you using for Image viewing? If you are not set yet, I suggest a really powerfull package called Xn View, wich allows you to view and manipulate pictures - such as adding watermarks.
  17. @theplasticsurgeon did recently a concurrent build of an Airfix and Revell F.3 for the Tornado STGB he is probably the best person to ask.
  18. +1 for Revell kit no: 04999 for the single seater or 03956 for the double seater (also available as gift sets 64999 and 63956). I found the single seater hard to fond lately though, so you should grab one if you see it. The double seater is way easier to get hold if ATM. There is not much choice beyond them either: There are the old Revell kits based on the prototype, and then there is the aforementioned Italeri kit, which has also been reboxed by Revell Airfix, Tamiya, KP and Bilek. The nice thing about the later Italeri boxing are the decals though, as they also cover hungarian and SAAF Gripens, while the Revell one only takes czech and swedish liveries into account.
  19. Welcome to the party Peter. He more the merrier.
  20. Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the skies, Air defences were up, with electronic eyes. Combat pilots were nestled in ready-room beds, As enemy silhouettes danced in their heads. Every jet on the apron, each SAM in its tube, Was triply-redundant, linked to the Blue Cube, And ELINT and AWACS gave coverage so dense That nothing that flew could slip through our defence. When out of the klaxon arose such a clatter I dashed to the screen to see what was the matter; I increased the gain and then, quick as a flash, Fine-adjusted the filters to damp out the hash. And there found the source of the warning we’d heeded: An incoming blip, by eight escorts preceded. “Alert status red!” went the word down the wire, As we gave every system the codes that meant “FIRE!” On Aegis! Up Patriot, Phalanx and Hawk! And scramble our fighters–let’s send the whole flock! Launch decoys and missiles! Use chaff by the yard! Get the kitchen sink up! Call the National Guard! They turned toward the target, moved toward it, converged. Till the tracks on the radar all finally merged, And the sky was lit up with a demonic light, As the foe met his fate in the high arctic night. So we sent out some recon to look for debris, Yet all that they found, both on land and on sea Were some toys, a red hat, a charred left leather boot, Broken sleigh bells, white hair, and a deer’s parachute. Now it isn’t quite Christmas, with Saint Nick shot down. There are unhappy kids in each village and town. For the Spirit of Christmas can’t hope to evade All the web of defences we’ve carefully made. But a crash program’s on: Working hard, night and day, All the elves are constructing a radar-proof sleigh. So let’s wait for next Christmas, in cheer and in health, For the future has hope: Santa’s coming by stealth!
  21. @Enzo Matrix Would you kindly add this one to the STFB rooster?
  22. @Enzo Matrix could you please cuange the name of my proposed GB from 'Intermarum" to "Intermarium"? It is a minor apelling mistake, but quite annoying once you see it. "My neighbour always listens to good music. Whether he likes it or not"
  23. You can amalgamate I.e. a cardboard model of a Phantom F-4j(UK) it covers - Nato vs Warsaw pact the 90-ties - Stranger in Town - Yanks abroad - the mega GB - Anxthing but injection and maybe even - kit you didn't build as a kid, and - less than a tenner 2 or take the Mastiff MRAP as i.e. a 3D print. - small wars take 2 - Yanks abroad - british AFVs (maybe) - Stanger in Town - Anything but injection - Cars, trucks anf AFVs - A kit you didn't build as a kid - Africa GB - less than a tenner 2 (maybe) thr possibilities are enormous. Q: what font is used in documents on a submarine? A: Subscript
