Does anyone know, at least roughly, how many kits for instance Tamiya or Airfix sell? The latest 1/48 kits from Tamiya, or Arfix 1/24 Spit to pick two. /Torbjörn

Thanks! I made some dents first with a heated screwdriver, then painted some silver over it, and used a sponge with silver paint to finish it off. /Torbjörn

In some parts they seem to b a bit sloppy, and some parts could be crisper, and the engingering a bit smarter, but ... a nice and quite easy build. I went for a beaten up and dirty look. I took on this baby: http://www.wingnutwings.com/ww/product?productid=3162 As always, nice to build the kits from Wingnut Wings. I skipped the insignia, as I found them too prominent. Consider this an aircraft not being painted fully yet. Artistic freedom and all. I had forgotten the windshield when I took the pictures, but it's fixed now, though I haven't taken any new pictures. Just imagine it in place. ; ) /Torbjörn

It arrived a week too late. There are templates for mask printed in the instructions, but they are a bit too large, so today I masked the last piece of the transparent parts the old fashioned way. Great model, though, fun to build.

How on earth can you remember what you or your brother built in 1971? Impressive! And I think you have the right mindset regarding building this model. /Torbjörn

I simply loved the original kit. The only downside was the fiddlyness with the PE spokes. Maybe I should build this one as well, since I gave the finished one to a friend who is a Mercedes afficionado.

Finished a while ago, but I have been waiting for two missing sprues. They were sent from Miniart mid February, but I suppose that Putins war against Ukraine badly effects the postal services. The parts I miss is the shovel and the pick-axe, so you have to create an image of them in the back of the bus. Hope you like it. It was a very fun and enjoyable build. Finished! The kit is a bit over engineered in some parts, most of all the rear hull. And half of the plastic is unused, some of it goes straight to the spares box. Great fit over all. I really enjoyed it, though. I don’t know why I’m so fond of rusted blue vehicles. Maybe it’s because of the old SAAB I drove when I was 20. Hm. The only thing I'm not so pleased with is that the dust turned out a little bit too orange. Anyway; hope you like what you see. Til next time, happy modelling! BTW ... Isn't it strange that fighters are called A-wing, X-wing, Y-wing etc, when they don't have our alphabet in that galaxy?

The pigeons have received some paint. First different shades of gray and blueish grays as a primer, then some brown, violet and green water colours. I tried to make every pigeon different from the other. Then I painted some more distinctive patterns with Payne's gray. They turned out pretty well, methinks. /Torbjörn

Thanks! And be grateful that your pigeons are full scale and not 1/32. They would be extremely hard to hit otherwise. On the other hand their crap would be miniscule. /Torbjörn

Don't worry, I've begun work on the pigeons. Assembled awaiting painting. They are very, very small! /Torbjörn

A quick update. I've painted the camo and put on some decals. A filter (tan I think) will follow. The net is the best I could find that's roughly in scale. It's cut from a mosquito net, so now I have 10 meters of the stuff, minus a small portion of about 15x30 centimeters. And no mosquitos here in the city center. Well, well, the sacrifices you have to make for the sake of art. Take care! /Torbjörn

From the paint booth. Tamiya Deck tan as a foundation for the oil paints to come. And then some oils; raw sienna and burnt umber. A stiff brush to create streaking resembling wood grain. To get the correct curvature on the roof I cut out arcs in plastic and glued to the short ends. I also glued supporting beams on the sides. The roof itself is made of thick paper. I've begun working on the chassis, it's practically finished. I'll keep the bonnet (hood) closed, so I didn't put much effort on the engine. Some weathering will be next. I primed with a rust coloured primer, then a coat of chipping medium before a coat of Tamiya Khaki. I wanted just light chipping, it's hardly noticeable. Til next time ... /Torbjörn
