  1. Great job and welcome to RFI! These guys are really supportive and you learn alot here talking to them! I know I do! This looks great for your first model! A great looking plane!
  2. I have several wingsies in the stash. Splendid job! Very cool bomblets!
  3. I picked up my kit today at the local model shop! How long a wait till the A-10A version of this kit is released? Looks hard to backdate. Specific sprue dedicated for C model. I bet that sprue is different for the A.
  4. Great job on this V2! I also built one and it was very fun!
  5. Greetings Friends! I have been away from modelling. My cataracts were so bad, I literally went blind and so could not build models, or see anything. I got surgery and now can see perfect! So I started to build a model and here is my first back in the workshop! Naturally I started with a Tamiya kit to get back in the swing of it! Everyone knows how great this kit is and a pleasure to build. I used Gunsie Mr. Color Metallizers and have about 5 different silvers on this plane masking off various parts and looking at alot of P-47's in NMF to pick colors. The only changes were the excellent Eduard 'Look' Instument panel, Ultracast Resin Weighted Wheels, and old Superscale decals for the Eagleston P-47D. I had a photo of this plane with 18.5 victories and so got creative with the victory decals on the sheet and hand made the 1/2 victory like they did in Dec 1944. It came out ok, the sheet only gives you 18 victory decals! I have just tarnished some of the silvers and have very light weathering on this with oil wash. It came out nice and I am not good at weathering NMF yet so am keeping this one clean for now. Enjoy the pics!
  6. By detail, I meant all three. This better be an ACCURATE B24 model.
  7. I hope it is accurate in detail. This is great news. Was hoping someone would do new B24....
  8. Well, i just had cateracts in both eyes, and you loose dexterity, and control of your hands, but my eyes were the worst. I finally quit building. Just had surgery and i see 20/20. Now started building a Tamiya 1/48 P47 as my first kit back! My eyes are not fully healed, but had to start building! I build on average 16 to 18 1/48 kits every year over last 4 years. When I was still in 1/72, I could make only 2 to 4 kits a year until frustration drove me to other hobbies. I am having alot more fun and enjoying the builds more in 48th. So just chalking it up to age. I have a massive stash in 1/72, and I am not parting with it! Collected kits for 35years in 1/72.
  9. I had to give up 1/72, because of age, and go to 1/48. Perhaps more modellers are too as we all get older. 48ers have alot recently, and it really got me back into the scale. I was hoping for a Tamiya 1/32 P38, that would be incredible. The Tamiya 1/48 p38 is the best model ever made in my opinion. The way it simplifies build of a very complex subject is remarkable... and enjoyable! I still have bad memories of trying to build 1/72 P-38's!!! So hopefully Tamiya will fix that for you inch high guys.
  10. Yup... the 1/48 Ascender is great... and they announced the Swoose Goose and Black Bullet already..
  11. I am disappointed. I expected to see another F-4 version in 1/48, or another 1/48 new tool of something... i guess the 172 guys will be happy with the F35, but after the 1/48 one, its kinda not a sexy splash new product year...
  12. Better be that 1/48 McDonnell XP-67 Moon Bat I am waiting for in their series of US experimental fighters!
  13. Omg! I have to have it! My 1/48 he111z has been waiting for this! What? Only the powered version! Glider version?!
  14. Wow! I just picked up the Meng F-4G. I am finding myself opening it up and looking it over many times. It looks like the most BUILDABLE F4 ever. Fuselage and lower wing are only 3 pieces! Fuselage basically one molded piece and has splendid detail on spine that would have been lost if it was two halves! Great design.. I just ordered the Meng F4E. I already have ZM, Tamiya, Hasegawa, Academy F4s. I would assume Tamiya is good, but they are far too slow to market with other versions. Looking forward to getting thru this cateract surgery so I can build models again. This Meng F4G will be one of my first efforts! Great job Meng!
