  1. Wow! Awesome! Looking forward to this... hope you do all versions of the bv155!
  2. I will hold out hope they do these in 1/48! I think hanging from a ceiling would be practical for most. Maybe they could offer a ceiling mount stand to hold the model up there!
  3. Thanks Matt... yes i will do FB with its appearance at the end with 200 missions. Thanks for your help on pitot tubes...
  4. My only confusion with the kit is the pitot tubes. These are molded part of wing and instructions show cutting them off and not gluing them back. Is there someone who knows if the B26B had a left and right pitot tube on the wings? I am looking at photos and old monogram kit of flak bait has you add the pitot tubes. Photos have most with pitot tubes, but some Marauders dont have them! Im building flak bait, with AM decals... thanks in advance for help!
  5. Mine just arrived from Poland... this is a fantastic kit! Very crisp moldings and lots of detail... I'm very very impressed!
  6. Bring on the Hampden! I basically am game for all Brit ww2 bombers. Short Stirling in 1/48 please!
  7. Thanks Tbolt! I just now see this was covered back on page 3, i missed that. Sorry to reask this q, thanks for answer...
  8. I was debating if i had the skill to do that. I need the tunnel gun if i start changing the model that much...
  9. I am planning to build 'Eileen' a p-47d-28 with filletless fuselage. It seems the free french kit is where i can build it from.
  10. What is wrong with cockpit floor? I see two cockpit floors provided in the kit above and one is ribbed and one is smooth... Thanks in advance you Tbolt experts!
  11. I got 2 of these for the stash. I am happy with kit and waiting for aftermarket to fix cowls. I wish i could get a panel to cover the ball turret so i can build "cocktail hour"... maybe i should just retract ball turret and pretend its not there! I do know it was removed at depot before deployment...
  12. Will they box the p-47D-28RE in a different scheme? I need one but dont want french decals...
  13. Well, i ordered the royal class kit from my local model shop. That is only p51b kit he could get! It has decals for Shangra La, which appeals to me. Ironically, another model shop i was at today had the old royal class p51d kit! Sold as used, but sealed from a colletion he got in, for a great price!
  14. Nice model of cool ki61 version... i built this kit about a year ago. Very unique lookiing!
  15. My only complaint on the kit is that there is no gun muzzle detail on the fuselage as is shown in the box art. These features are left to modeller to add. I can understand it could be difficult to put these into tooling, but even a depression where to drill would be helpful!
  16. Wonderful! Thanks Piotr, for that picture! Glad to see they put that into the tooling! I see that was also in the 1/72 Revell Flitzer kit of the 1990s, I guess I didnt notice it, It should have been built, not reside in my stash! So it was for added power for climb probably.
  17. I agree Paul... I really want to separate the postwar fantasy from real designs. What upsets me is when model companies (the offending kit wont be mentioned, but came out in 1990s) simply stick on forward swept wings on a HE162 where the conventional wings attach and call it a version of Volkjager! They kitted this crap! The landing gear are in wrong place and it would never balance! I have a resin conversion for the FSW He162 that has you move the wing root aft to the design position so the aircraft matches the real design and balances. I watch for these things because the 'cartoon' concepts usually violate aircraft design norms.
  18. No... not to the extent of later work, but the benefits could be measured in a wind tunnel... Wolfgang Haack defined this curve and proportion for minimum wave drag in 1941. So the Germans were on it. Interestingly, the shape of the V-2 body seems to follow the optimum min wave drag shape... so that design feature was contemplated...
