Hi Gents, of course I enjoyed walk very much: rain, wind, kilometers of tarmac, blisters on feet and mad cows inside my tent: 🤣 🤣 🤣 Of course I'm just kidding. All these things are just part of the business, nothing special for me. To be honest I enjoyed rather beauty mountains, old cities, moors and many fantastic, wild campings. And many, many very frindly and kind people. Definitely, one of the finest walks I ever had! Lets go back frigate. First, I want warn you. Its almost impossible to install stairs without bollard's repositioning. Of course its better do it BEFORE painting all model and so on. On right side everything is fine, this fault is only left side. I installed armament. Main guns are Black Cat. Original kit's guns have wrong shields (brown one on lower photo). I took radio-director antenna (red arrow) from excellent RN Radars set by Mk. 1 design. HMS Jed had square antenna while the kit contains only round one. Single Oerlikons are Black Cat, while twins, depth charges, boats and rafts - Micromaster. Micromaster is just excellent and superior, however Black Cat is still very nice. I In my stash I have found spare photo-etched Oerlikons shields (producer is polish Aber) so I decided to replace it. Thinner and delicate shields look better now. As you see I made from scratch platform and securing ropes for Carley float. If you bought and use such jewellery, its worth to paint it properly. I painted guns (barrels, drums and so on) by very dark grey paint. It looks better than pure black. After then I deliatelly brushed Gun Metal dry pigment. It highlited details and then all guns had nice metallic look. Of cours I used classic enamel wash and highlighting parts too. And some photos of DC's and boats (only dry-fitting). A bit commic and surrealistic cammo 🤪 very original!

@JohnWS, great photos and inspiration for building. Yoy wrote" he second (HMS Sirius) has the teak lattice grating". I would say more - we see not only grating but lot of wooden platforms with planking around and above grating too. I would love to recreate such structure on modell. And of course many, many details more like table, binoculars, and machine-guns... Very busy outdoor office! And last but not least. In the photo you showed us we see a ship's bow too. Look, the Sirius had a small mast in front of bridge: So in the photo John showed us we are looking from rear side toward front. We have two side "grating holes" - left and right and in the middle is "planked bridge" with compass, pelorus and so on on it. @beefy66 very nice progress, it will be beautifull ship. Hi, Friends, More than one year ago I seriously bent Jed's mast and had to repair it. As I lost my patience and heart for this model I need take a breake and bulid something easier. Unfortunately Revell's Tornado wasn't easy job and took me much more time than I anticipated. Then I wanted give my small tribute for brave Ukrainians who fight not only for their own freedom... Finally my pause lasted over one year! Morover after Russia's aggresion against Ukraine I had to change my modelling workshop from very very comfortable and quite big mezzazine for something far more... compact. However now I'm closer with my family (and coffe;-)! Reason was we had lot of guests from Kyyiv, Zaporozhe and other Ukrainianas cities and we had to empty a room under mezzazine for creating space to living for them. So when I took HMS Jed off the dusted corner I noticed she is.. all covered cobweb! Watch out for ARACHONPHOBIA! I noticed a few kinds of cobwebs there: As a first I used white thread as a flaglines. I think it is EZ-line, it is quite old. Unfortunantely, it doesn't work good. The thread is very fraying, difficult for making knots or pulling through the grommets. The black ones are Uschi vand den Rosten and it is really FAR, FAR better, I really recommend it. And finally for loose, hanging ropes I used a thin metal - wire too and it was as good as Uschi thread. Then I have added infra-red fighting signal lamps. I made it form stretched clear sprues and then painted with blue and red clear-paints. Decls were custom-made y my Friend (thank you Marek!). I must blend these with thin layer grey paint. When I replced lost bollards and some flag-blocks I used first time mini-puncher and another tool from small Czech producer. I strongly recommend it! PS. Last holidays I had great pleasure going back once again very pleasant country and finished quite a nice, 300 kms (yes, 300 kms) walk there. I will watch your buid with interesting, as I recently finished 1/72 "Mig Eater" Tonka. You will find here many Tonka lovers (me) and experts (not-me). Sorry for delay. 1. Studying and analysing lot of original plane's photos and imagininng what effect I want finally achieve. It is really very important stage! 2. Black gloss base: Gunze Ueno black 3. Nozzle's interiors: white and then a few layers of Modeller's World Oil. I like very much this product of small polish producer. It smells quite nice, has good drop-application and works good on model. You can show its webpage: https://www.modellersworld.eu/?v=9b7d173b068d 4. I drybrushed nozzles (only nozzles) with matt white. I acieved irregular black and white mosaique. 5. I sprayed metallic colours. I tried to do it transparently to maintain mosaique-effect. 6. Every two shutter I brushed thinly with transparnent acrylic clear blue paint. 7. Rest of them I gave more brown washes and Burnt red Tamiya powder. Generally, it was a multi-staged, slow process and great experiment, it was my first time. Think most effect I achieved with blue clear paint, Cittadel's ink was very usefull too. I don't like normally this ink but this time worked pretty well. Very strong effect and covering - that's what I need this time! Thank you fellows for your comments and likes. First I sprayed Mr Surfacer 1000 as undercoat. Then I used Gunze C and Hataka Orange. I agree Foxbot masks have quite strong glue however there was NO situation of peeling paint off the model. Masks worked pretty well with Gunze paints, however unfortunantely when I removed masks off the model, masks left lot of glue on Hataka-painted areas. Happily I easily removed it glue with White Spirit and cotton-stick. PS. Beautifull avatar, I love IAR-80, it's absolutely beauty plane! @sanfrandragon I'll answer your question tomorrow, sorry mate. Good job, very important topic. @MattP Maybe you can add a robbed stuff inside Tigr, some TV or even washing-mashine? It's another very characteristic and widely popular, real signmark... Sorry, I made a mistake. 😳 I mean 3 months of course- not a lot for my builds. Tornado took about 7 months and was much much more difficult and troublesome. Michal.
