That’s very smart John,I want one now! The golden sand colour’s just perfect for this car. It’s a very decent kit by the look of it.

That’s just beautiful, the year I became interested in motor sport. This car definitely made that happen, but my dad used to call them cigar tubes!
Chris. -
I remember now that I also have an Airfix t shirt purchased from Asda about 5years ago…Chris.
-
I have a tin of the mini mints,it’s quite small obviously! From a nearby garden centre, there was no other Airfix product at all on the premises! Chris.

That’s come out beautifully,I thought the green was too dark at first, but it’s perfect.Chris.

Hannants shop is next door to the RAF museum, there’s an Army museum in Chelsea, not forgetting the Imperial war museum in Lambeth too. I like the British Museum as well for ancient history. Chris

Thanks, this is Village photos I’d forgotten they had problems. It all worked better than before last night.I have e mailed them for any update, they all looked ok on my new iPad older phone.Chris.

I hope you like these two D Types, they are both Provence Moulage resin kits( long out of production! )in 1/24 scale and 1/43. It’s the same racecar obviously- a support race to the British GP which was at Aintree in 1955. Oh,the driver was Mike Hawthorn with his 4 spoke steering wheel.
The 1/24 car is a bit of a conversion,as the blue Ecurie Ecosse car pictured is the real kit,yes another one! Had to fill in the passenger area with a scratch built panel, fill in the rear air scoops and sand away the double windscreen area to fit the single type windscreen.
On the blue Ecosse car shown here the paint job looks fine but it has flaws in it,the paint seemed to just run away from certain areas! I carried on regardless as I thought no one really looks at my models, not even my wife! Anyway I decalled it and then decided that I will strip the paint and start all over again. Anyway you’re meant to look at the green cars…..Have a good weekend everyone,Chris.

Very nice result! Takes me back in time I love the colour. Chris

An interesting build of an interesting car if I may say so. The paint on the front wing looks excellent,I have made a 1/43 kit of this car but it’s nothing like this one! Chris.

Thank you! Chris.

There’s a lovely Spark Models red Delage on eBay at the moment,a Le Mans 1937 car. There have been lots of 1/43 kits from companies like Vroom who are still going like ABC. Look up Grand Prix Models, they could be your friend, but their search is not straight forward….or maybe that’s just me!
Chris.

I totally agree with all the above,it’s just perfect Nick. It really does look real!

Impressive! I’m going to now dig out my old PM kit now and have a look! It’s the New Man Ayrton Senna car. Horbra made the best 956 962 kit.
I like your one very much still Trevor.
-
And this gives an excellent result Trevor! Starter kits definitely need improvement but they’re quite old now. Like most of my stash……You’ve also chosen a really nice colour scheme too. What’s PMA? Chris.
-
And you can currently get the Lowenbrau 962 in 1/24 with a resin conversion set from Classic racing resins,to convert the Revell or Hasegawa plastic kits. I’m sure that MA Scale models also make the Jim Busby car in 1/43,they make every other IMSA Porsche. Both are American companies.
Good luck,Chris.

That’s a very smart result, especially from an older kit with those decals. Chris.

I’ve experienced exactly this more than once! Luckily you can use those spare decal bits for repairs, fiddly I know, but you have the colour match there. The hairdryer bit works too and Daco decal solution. All the best,Chris.

That’s really nice! In one of the best liveries too! Chris.

Is this a Hasegawa kit? A lovely looking model of a great Group C car. I saw this race at Le Mans, but unfortunately not at Monza! Chris.

To mainly Kiseca- this is the same car, another one shown above, they never made kits of this car,big mistake I think. This is the famous Lola T297 chassis number HU22. I’m sure this car raced 5 times at Le Mans, once or twice with a longer tail. This car did race in The Wall livery once in the 1981 Silverstone 6 hr.race. The Wall LP was released in 1979. When I was trying to find pictures of the wall car the other week,I was looking at 1973 or 4!
Who knows where the time goes? As they say. All the best,Chris.-

Cheers all,the other ‘missing 1/43 ‘ Lola is the Barclays Bank car,I haven’t come across one of those either apart from an extremely rubbish plastic kit from Luso. I love Chevron cars too,I managed to buy up all of the Libra Miniatures B16 coupe kits, they’ve all gone now,but I kept the 3 that raced at Le Mans in 1970. I have also 2 I think of the Ampersand Indycars. Chris.

The blue and the golden sand must have been the the 2 most popular colours! Also seen in the Sweeney TV series, bank robbers car along with the S type of the sixties too…Chris.
