Thanks Cooper 645,all present and correct now! I do have a Map of France car lined up next, the body has been sprayed, just a simple decal job now ha ha! Chris.

photo torn out of Autosport magazine from 1981,but not Le Mans. Thanks for looking,Chris.

Thanks Keith and Trevor, and Spiny? I think the big one is group 5 but not quite sure as Le Mans change their classes almost every year. Yes and it's lucky that I like decalling, love the BMW M1 and art cars generally- which means a lot of decals....might add a picture of the real car tomorrow. Chris.

Nice car, from the golden age of Can Am racing. The figure's come out nice, looks very 60's! Chris.

Two BMW M1 cars, the fat one is from Le Mans 1981 and is a very old Record resin kit;must have been produced in 1982 or 3. The normal M1 is a diecast Solido car completely dismantled and redone from scratch. A bit of too much sun on the roof of the car,it was too sunny! Chris.

I showed this car in the what is your latest purchase thread. It's not a Revell one I didn't know they made one, this is a 1/24 metal kit. Looks like I put in the wrong thread now,but I'm quite new here. Chris. R.I.P. Stirling

Tamiya definitely started the 1/20 scale F1 kits,l think the reason was that the radio control cars were 1/10 scale,so easy to halve for the the kits. I've got obsessed with 1/24 F1 kits which to my mind makes more sense. Also I agree about tanks etc. Why would they be in 1/72 or 1/76? Not so long ago I purchased a Cararama red Land Rover it says 1/72 to go with a Red Arrows Hawk I had built. It looked a bit big so I bought an Oxford diecast Red Arrows Land Rover in 1/76 it goes perfectly in scale and is half the size of the 1/72 one!

Very good result,as others have said it's good to see a 1/43 kit on display too.

Hi Paul.thanks for looking. I would love to see your Dads pictures, and I'm sure I wouldn't be alone in this! What team do you work if it's not too much to ask? Have you been laid off at all? Chris.

Recently picked this up from eBay at a bargain price, its beatiful I think. Winning Mercedes of Sir Stirling Moss and Dennis Jenkinson- 1955 Mille Miglia, his greatest race? This a 1/24 heavy metal model, signed as well! You can still buy this as a kit now by K and R Replicas . Enjoy below,Chris. +

Thanks for looking.

A lockdown completion, this is a 1/43 metal kit by Racing 43,one of my favourite kit companies. I'm sure this is a 1990 F1 car.Hope you like! Chris.

I use Kristal Klear, it's a Microscale product I think. Should be available everywhere in normal circumstances. It takes forever to dry but doesn't damage anything and dries transparent. Personally I think Pattex and Bostik are just rubbish.....

Thanks for all the nice positive replies! I did struggle with the photo hosting but got there in the end, last time I did this was in 2009....
The figure is an Omen Miniatures, ready painted but I did repaint some of it,and I know that he wore brown shoes! They started as o gauge railway figures then made quite a lot of race drivers,I only have Mike and Jim Clark. Its not a Merit kit kit, that would be twice as big at 1/24. More to follow I hope soon.

My first ready for inspection,I hope it's not too big! This is the Jade 1/43 resin kit,Mike Hawthorn and his Vanwall from the French G.P 1956.

Wow,this is excellent! I have the this model too,but mine is still like your first picture . I'm very impressed.Did you use Jaguar D type wheels? Agree about the Merit kits.

Welcome Beppe,we need more car modellers! though I do attempt also to make some airplanes too.We were due to go on holiday to just outside Palermo next month..British Airways have just told us the flights cancelled. Chris.

Love the real car and the kit is definitely on my wishlist! I found an article about this very kit in Scale Auto magazine found in WHS,December 2019. There's also a few alternative decal sheets out as well, that's in the mag too. You've made a very nice model.

Hi Daniel, welcome from another recent new person from Kent. Chris.
-
Thank you Trevor,I will try that very soon.
-
Hi Trevor,as another new person can I just ask what you use to post pictures? I used to be on Photo Bucket years ago but they are no good any more apparently.
-
Beautiful model of a beautiful car,the green is really nice. I recently bought the Wave 1/24 resin kit of this car. A Schumacher car? The blue is also very good too!

Thanks to everyone for the welcome,I'm not the only one from Kent then! I just now need to put some photos on somehow. Cadwell sounds like a good racetrack, similar to Brands Hatch?

I first went to Brands Hatch Boxing Day 1966,I still go now, love sportscar racing first I think. Also went to Crystal Palace circuit for the Formula 2 and 3 races, not forgetting the saloons for course - Lotus Cortinas Ford Mustangs etc. I missed that Guards meeting unfortunately! Marsh Model cars are the best..

I love this model, think it's really well finished. How were the decals? Older Hasgawa decals were not very nice to deal with,Chris.
