  1. I tried to buy Tamiya pink primer last year or longer ago.I was told by the model shop man that Tamiya don’t make it anymore as there is no demand, but you’re the 10th.person who’s asked for it this week! Apparently they sold loads of it. I now use Army Painter pink primer instead. Chris.
  2. I did the Mustang groupbuild the first I’ve ever done. The time goes quickly I found but they did give us a two week extension! Which was nice. Chris.
  3. Another fabulous Gulf Porsche, this is just stunning I think. Chris.
  4. That’s very very nice! I don’t remember seeing any kit or model that has the fill in piece of bodywork, really good work. Did you get the idea from a book by any chance!? Chris.
  5. I have exactly the same dilemma! I need some black rings for a 1/43 racecar,I can’t find any rings but then remembered I have a compass cutter which I think is the answer here. I have used it once before and it did work,it needs to be sharp but then it’s still as new. Good luck! Chris.
  6. Can you put me down please? I did the Mustang groupbuild, something I’ve never done before. The stash is hundreds of 1/43 and not so many 1/24 kits. That’s after selling a few off! Chris.
  7. I was also a British Telecom apprentice in the west end,and I also remember seeing this car! When I first left school,I was an apprentice car mechanic ( I didn’t last long) and one of my jobs was to service a pink E type, but not FU2……Chris.
  8. Just stunning and beautiful too! I was unaware of this actual race,it’s everyone’s dream team there including Quick Vic. A great piece of modelling there,Chris.
  9. I’ve never used Zero paints, but I have used Mr Clear over decals,I use spray cans and you do definitely need a good gloss before any decals.Marsh Models and their decals are excellent,I surprised myself by doing the ‘hippie’ Porsche 917 decals of theirs all in one go,perfectly just with a hairdryer! If you need a decal softener ,I now only use the Daco ones,I’ve have tried all the others……Chris.
  10. He was going downhill from Brands Hatch en route to Goodwood, this is the A20 and this downhill stretch used to be called death hill! Today I read that he jackknifed as his truck was picking up speed and was coming up fast on some cyclists,so tried to slow down a bit and then he jackknifed and tipped over. A lucky escape? Chris.
  11. A beautiful result there Trevor, everything is right about this model, especially the colours - always a bone of contention! Real modelling,Chris.
  12. I’ve just experienced this too,I have an MG TF 2005 and I was with Lancaster, classic car insurance. This years price was a lot higher but then so was everyone else. I think it was now about £280,then I moved from a house with a drive to a flat with a car park underneath. Then they wanted just under £800 ! I was then only insured by them for a week, our other car is with Saga who quoted £400, so that’s what I’m now paying. When you ask why the big increase they just shrug it off - oh everything’s gone up. Chris.
  13. The teapot! Fantastic result,I’m quite intrigued with the figure too,and impressed! It’s great to see 1/43 cars being shown on here too. All the best,Chris.
  14. Absolutely beautiful model! I showed the Martini version a few months ago but it looks a bit gloomy compared to your one here! It’s very expertly completed, especially with the bodywork off and the display stands. Chris.
  15. Speedy progress on a very smart kit, the yellow looks perfect! Chris.
  16. A beautifully made small scale model again,I’m jealous now! Chris. A beautifully made small scale model again,I’m jealous now!
  17. A random mix of stuff here from Brands Hatch my local racetrack on Sunday. This was a big race meeting a round of the World GT series including a certain Valentino Rossi as one of the drivers. There was the most beautiful Triumph TR ever made,it looks better than new. It says Italia 2000 on the boot(I think). Owned by someone with the Swiss Emil Frey race team. A nice Zagato Lancia and a quite a few racecars.. Here you go- Chris.
  18. I must admit Le Frog 125 is the best looking one there, looks like it has a sunroof too! Chris.
  19. Another excellent example of model building! I particularly like the interior, there’s quite a bit to see in these cars.I’ve made about 8 of the K and R D types and they’re not easy as they have about 6 or more interior sills etc that have to be fitted once you’ve worked out where they all go! And they’re metal,I should try a C Type now though. Great model! Chris.
  20. Beautiful model, and very well made. I remember E types in this colour…Chris
  21. Great pictures of some great cars! Were there many spectators ? I’m curious as I normally go to the similar event at Brands Hatch at the end of May,and there’s usually hardly anyone there! Chris.
  22. Spotted round the corner from me,this car is parked in front of an undertakers premises, shop! I’ve worked out that the owner works there as he was leaving at about 5pm. Not sure if this is in the best possible taste! The car is LHD too, makes it worse! It’s a Chevrolet Camaro by the way. Chris.
  23. I received an e mail recently from Marsh models/Aerotech showing that they are issuing a new version of their DH88 Comet in the Burberry colour scheme. Light grey with blue lettering etc. Chris.
  24. Wow, these are both very excellent models.Chris.
  25. Thanks for the reminder,I will most definitely be watching. Chris.
