This is actually a factory built promotional model, all metal apart from the tyres obviously! But it was very shabby, one or two of the decals were missing the rear wing was broken,I added detail in the cockpit, the seatbelts were cast and

so I painted them up and added some p/ e buckles. The front suspension had a completely unnecessary white metal axle that I removed so the wheels and suspension now look normal and the wheels can be posed. Came on the the nice Williams green base and represents Keke Rosberg's Monaco GP winning car,a Williams Fw08C. An earlier Williams FW07 in 1/43 I made years ago is alongside. Thanks for looking,Chris.

Eyes like a hawk! I never actually noticed that car. And behind that is Jonathan Palmer’s helicopter,Brands Hatch owner. Well spotted- Chris

Found this in my BMW decals stash, but there is no reference to the colour to use for spraying a model in my colours to use book. See below, hope this helps a bit.
cheers from Chris.

This is the blue I have been using for years now for any Gulf Porsche/Ford models.Good choice, and I can't believe how busy you are! I haven't had time to touch anything for a week, though still managed to increase my stash by 4....Chris.

With all the talk of the MG Metro 6R4 means I've finally got myself a 1/43 white metal kit that i never managed to get hold of the first time round! Meri kits version of the Belga car, which is nice but I think I would prefer to find some Rothmans decals.
Last week I also bought from the buy/sell section here a 1/24 Frog Chaparral 2C,which I never knew existed;

Note the original price sticker! It's missing one wheel, has anyone got a spare one? Chris.

Unfortunately, they don’t do the Humbrol straw anymore, they withdrew it and I used all my straw up,their nearest equivalent is now a bit too light. Chris

I missed one out,I'm sure it's a Ford F100 pickup.Yes,there are two lovely Bond Bugs or lumps of cheese as they used to be known. I love the little Ginetta myself too. Chris.

Not today but on Sunday, supporting my local racetrack Brands Hatch for the Masters Historic meeting. I've only got one Racing picture here as my grandson wanted to be in all the other pics! Quite a few older cars for everyone you should recognise most or all of them. I think! Oh,the race picture is the pre 1966 mini race.

Wow! I am seriously impressed with this,I haven't seen any MFH kits in 1/43 up close before. Is that a spare wheel in the rear ? I never knew about that before either..Chris.

Thanks Klubman and Sabrejet,Automany ,AMR and Little Smashers did make this too,but I think this is the only 82 car. Chris

Good progress John! Get used to drilling stuff with 1/43 kits, they actually get you to do some modelling .Chris.

Hi,two little Astons here- the silvery one is from Le Mans 1982 a grp C Aston Martin Nimrod, kit was from Manou of Le Mans, but also said made by Robustelli! Manou was the funny little round model shop that used to be in the Le Mans village. Tiff Needel was one of the drivers. The other is a Provence Miniatures resin kit, Prodrive DBR9 from Le Mans 2005. This is one my favourite models that I've built. Hope you like too! Chris.

And kits of all of them have been available by Provence Moulage and others, kept my interest going! No Provence Moulage around now though unfortunately. Not that there is any shortage of kits to choose from overall. True about the 962,it won Le Mans in 1994,sportscar Racing is in very good shape at the moment, there the Le Mans series WEC and the GT series, now called World GT series. The WEC race from Spa was on Eurosport last week. Chris

Bernie Ecclestone killed off group C as it was actually more popular than his eff one business. The 1991 Silk Cut Jag had to have a 3 litre Grand Prix engine as in the Jaguar XJR14 above;this meant they could never get the numbers to make a decent race.I never saw this car race but I think I went to all the other group C races in England at Brands Hatch Silverstone and Donington. My first Le Mans was 1987,(complete with Silk Cut Jags)and I was still booked for this year. It's now been put back to September, and last week it was announced that it will go ahead behind closed doors! Lots of people have now got Eurostar tickets also that are now useless. I'll return to Group C later..Chris.

Are they Racing 43 decals? The Heller kit looks really really good! Chris.

Now I know it's 1/72,it looks even better! Chris.

Another beautiful looking sportscar! I haven't got this one,it looks superbly made too. I definitely prefer sportscar/Le Mans racing to Eff one. Chris.

I quite like this! What scale is it? I have never heard or seen one of these before, and have never heard of RPM either.its like a WW1 Jeep. Very nice,Chris.

I can highly recommend the Haynes book,a bit late now I know! I make quite a few D type kits and the Haynes book is the only one I could find to show suspension and steering pics for us modellers. The XKSS is a Road going D type.Chris.

Ooh,this is very good,I don't see anything clumsy here at all! Love the dashboard wiring for a start.Hope you don't mind me adding a picture of one of my favourite cars, back and front of an old 1971 Autosprint magazine, hence the crease..Chris.

I think it looks good, the last one I saw was a pink one about 2 years ago outside a hotel in Malta.I don't think I would have liked to be picked up from the airport in it though! Chris.

Absolutely the best! Does Fernando Pinto know about this? I should think he owes you a free kit by now.....

Personally I use MR. HOBBY Clear, a spraycan,as I'm not really an airbrush person. Before and after decals I wouldn't trust myself with anything else at the moment, apart from Klear, now unavailable any more. Other finishes are of course available. Chris.

I think there were 2 Brabhams, probably the same car, definitely a Martini one in red and I’m sure there was a white Parmalat too. The only Williams I remember is the FW07 Alan Jones car. This is all in 1:24. The one I’ve got here I have never seen before,Chris
