  1. Definitely a random selection here! It's the Le Mans 24hrs. this weekend so I thought I would throw in a few lesser spotted race cars. The first is from Le Mans 97,Momo Ferrari 333SP. I was there and this was everyone's favourite car willing them to win,but this car did finish 6th.The next This next car is from Le Mans 1980,a De Cadenet Cosworth group 6 prototype car,one of the drivers was Desire Wilson.I fitted proper seatbets into the cockpit and bare metal foil for the cockpit lining. This is a resin kit from Team T. Now here is a Rothmans Porsche 961 from Le Mans 1987,only one picture as I think this one is a bit rough! A Starter resin kit. Below are two Courage prototype LMP cars, the art car is from the 1998 race ,a Provence Moulage kit.and the Speedy car from the 2001 race is a nice JPS resin kit. And finally if you managed to get this far! Another Le Mans 1987 car- the lovely Lotus Elise GT1 car from a Provence Moulage resin kit.Hope everyone likes these,or I'll put more on,ha ha! Chris. i forgot the De Cadenet side view-
  2. You can’t beat a Le Mans Aston Martin, this one looks absolutely perfect I think. I saw these race at Silverstone and Le Mans that year,a lovely model. Chris
  3. Thanks Rob,it’s got a wheel missing, but the wheels are actually rubbish! I have managed to get replacement resin tyres that go with Cox slotcar Chaparral wheels, they’ll be the my next step. The model I think is really good. Chris
  4. I love all the open doors, love the Gulf McLaren too,I shied away from making this model due to the colour scheme! Excellent job done on those Renaissance kits Rab. Oh and all the others as well. Chris.
  5. It's a hatchback! Really nice paint job there, what's not to like. Chris.
  6. Lovely! A nice Lotus green colour too. I have two of these that look exactly like your very 1st. picture,I'll definitely keep your build for my reference. Chris.
  7. Thanks Keith! Nice of you to say,I still have a mountain to get through. I could throw the odd 1/24 model in to mix it up a bit... Cheers,Chris.
  8. I'm pretty sure Solido did a rally Citroen BX,might be the only way to get one now! Then you'd also have to search for any choice of decals.
  9. Yes,a very nice collection there, they are all extremely well made and it s nice to see the variety in the cars. There's a lot of work in the Provence Miniatures kit and the Renaissance Subaru, fantastic stuff. Chris
  10. This has come out very well,F1 cars can be a bit complicated, the seatbelts look good.Would go nicely nicely with my Benetton B191 I showed a while back, but this is in 1/24. Chris.
  11. I'd say that's a little masterpiece you have created Rab! Reminds me of the Prisoner. Chris
  12. Very nice! I've been wanting one of these but how do you do the blue and the red? Not sure about the roof lump, but the Le Mans stickers are missing, you have to buy these separately now as the ACO are being protective about this! The wheels do look good being turned too. Chris.
  13. Two more colourful builds from the excellent Marsh Models kits, first one is the Red Lobster sponsored March 83G from the American IMSA sportscar series,1983. Next is their Gulf Porsche 908/3- I can't remember if it's 1970 or 71 and the box is now buried in my loft somewhere. It's nowhere near as well detailed as the recently shown MFH 908/3! As an aside I stepped into a dusty model shop last week and found an old Humbrol paint in an old Humbrol stand; I think this is what I used for the fibreglass colour. After Humbrol straw,I think is its replacement, pale yellow, and I think I've got most of the dust off of the lid.......hope you like. Chris.
  14. Lovely Lancias! I love Racing 43 and Meri kits,I didn't know their Stratos kit had an engine though.Racing 43 have a very good level of detail, rollcages etc. Impressive work there Rab.
  15. Hi there, welcome to someone else in Kent too! What models are you planning on making ? Sounds like like you already have a stash, which is obligatory.. Chris.
  16. I do like the photos! Those MR kits are definitely a bit special in 1/43. Very much like the AMR Dino, all AMR models are supposed to be oversized?
  17. Thanks for your comments, yes this is quite a rare model now,I think I only have one Renaissance kit in my stash now the Porsche 962 1994 Le Mans winning car. Their accessories are good, not many companies left making bits and stuff for us any more! Chris.
  18. Ha ha! The MR are or were quite special,I'm impressed! Nice to see us 1/43 modelllers coming out of the closet. I also agree about Renaissance kits,I have made the fared in Lancia as well myself,it's a doddle compared to the 1955 version- never again.....Are there any GT racing Lamborghini's? Chris.
  19. Yes a warm welcome too from me,I'm fairly new too but am finding it very nice here! Just to let you know that toddlers nad model cars don't mix very well. Ask me how I know,Chris.
  20. Another lockdown completion which I had actually put aside for 6 months, the side panels which are fuel tanks are only held on by flimsy looking photo etch; I couldn't face attempting completing it but I finally bit the bullet last week- and it wasn't that bad after all. These Renaissance kits are fairly fiddly and a bit over engineered but I suppose to be in scale, they have to be fairly fragile. Also have included a page of their catalogue, but this car is the one that has the flash over the picture! Chris.
  21. I think that's an outstanding build again, very smart indeed! I was also at that race and my wife was with me and suddenly announced that we were going home early! I was extremely annoyed obviously and I only take her to Goodwood races now, learnt my lesson there....I went to the Donington race the following year too in the hospitality. Anyway lovely Aston,Chris.
  22. There really are forty shades of green! I have the same problem, and then end up going to Halfords and any model shop looking for any match in a spraycan. Hope you find a good match soon,Chris.
  23. I think there were 2 Brabhams, probably the same car, definitely a Martini one in red and I’m sure there was a white Parmalat too. The only Williams I remember is the FW07 Alan Jones car. This is all in 1:24. The one I’ve got here I have never seen before,Chris
  24. This is actually a factory built promotional model, all metal apart from the tyres obviously! But it was very shabby, one or two of the decals were missing the rear wing was broken,I added detail in the cockpit, the seatbelts were cast and so I painted them up and added some p/ e buckles. The front suspension had a completely unnecessary white metal axle that I removed so the wheels and suspension now look normal and the wheels can be posed. Came on the the nice Williams green base and represents Keke Rosberg's Monaco GP winning car,a Williams Fw08C. An earlier Williams FW07 in 1/43 I made years ago is alongside. Thanks for looking,Chris.
  25. Eyes like a hawk! I never actually noticed that car. And behind that is Jonathan Palmer’s helicopter,Brands Hatch owner. Well spotted- Chris
