  1. I also happened to be at the Brands Hatch tyre testing day, this is the nearest I could get to Ayrton Senna. Not sure if it's 85 or 86,think it is 1986. My kids were convinced his name was Elton Centre.......... This is 1985,Stefan Johanson posing by his Ferrari and Keke Rosberg. Last of all I managed an Indycar race in Toronto as well in 1986- Michael Andretti's March. I think he won that one,I can't remember now! I have built this car in 1/43. Hope these are ok,they are photos of my photos! Chris.
  2. Very nice! I can't believe its brush painted either! Chris.
  3. Thanks! We are the odd ones,I have never recognised 1/20 as a scale for F1 models. I never really thought about it,but as a 1/43 F1 modeller I was turned onto 1/24 resin F1 kits by Colin Fraser of Formula Models. He sold me 3 Wave 1/24 F1 kits, and started me off on 1/24 kits. I have loads but have only completed two! Next one will be an Arrows A2,or Lotus 79. Chris.
  4. Also have you seen Scale Motorsport carbon fibre decals? Just an idea to start with, they are decent decals. I think Grand Prix Models sell them.Chris
  5. I don't think I could answer your question,I recently made a 1/43 version and the carbon fibre is practically invisible. A good place to start would be to look at the Formula 1 modelling site. F1m.com if you haven't already found this! Good luck,Chris.
  6. That's very nice! I like the decent seatbelts on view too. Tiff Needell,Top Gear and Fifth gear TV presenter was one of the drivers.Chris.
  7. The Gravity paint colour looks good, but for 50's Ferraris I have finally settled on Tamiya spray TS49,literally says bright red. See my 1953 Ferrari 357MM a couple of pages back,I've tried loads of different colours in the past! Chris.
  8. That's turned out extremely well,LM liking this a lot. Chris.
  9. Coming along nicely! And the Penske still looks good, nice to see a different G.P. car. Chris.
  10. A couple of pics to help with your progress Roy. Chris. It looks like Jacques Lafitte had a round headrest, but Rosberg car didn't have this feature. Chris.
  11. I will do Roy,I also have quite a few original magazine pictures carefully curated in my loft too! Mostly from the old Grand Prix International full colour magazine and Motor Sport etc. Chris.
  12. I have been meaning to ask the same! That is the car of Jacques Lafitte,Monaco 1983. I recently showed the Western Models 1/24 version of that car in the inspection area. Chris.
  13. I like this! It's gone together very well, some older kits are not like that. I have never made one of these,I think the only Airfix 1/32 kit I completed was the Sunbeam Rapier and my mum had to help me! Chris.
  14. Why not carry on in this area? To me it comes under Formula 1 first, but then I'm definitely biased! Looking very good so far Nick. Chris.
  15. Great job Trevor! I can definitely recommend Indycals too. Agree about the P4 as well,a beautiful car.And model of course! I'm falling behind! Chris.
  16. All true! But at least someone is making 1/43 F1 kits still. The last new one I bought was Jenson Button's Brawn in 2009. That was £70 then. I have managed to get myself a Meri Ferrari superkit since then from eBay. There are MFH or Studio 27 1/43, they are £130 or more? Chris.
  17. It's looking very good,a lot of detail packed in the kit too. Chris.
  18. That's beautiful ,the Tameo kit is the best in 1/43 as you have shown! The blue wheels are nice too ..... ..Chris
  19. It's all excellent! I didn't realise how much detail is packed in these 1/43 MFH kits. Chris.
  20. As above Nick, it's a shame but a diorama would show off all your previous good work improving on the Studio 27 parts! Chris.
  21. That's come out very nicely! I like the interior. Chris.
  22. Generic dashboard dial decals,I use them all the time. I think the make is Virage, comes in 1/24 and 1/43 sheets. eBay? good luck,Chris.
  23. Very impressed with the extra detail that you have and still are adding,it's stunning so far. Hope the body comes out well for you! Chris.
  24. Wow! This is real modelling,I'm just an assembelator. I notice it's in French blue too, nice colour.Chris.
  25. Good luck Nick! Shame about the kit parts, this quite often happens.........Have you seen Silver City models? They have made a 1/24 Shadow F1 resin kit, they also do the F5000 car. Oh and they also do Penske PC4 transkits. I would love to buy the Shadow for myself at Xmas. Chris.
