Cheers John and RS2, I think I did read Silver Cloud S111 on the back of the Rolls and wrote something completely different ! Chris.

A few pictures from the Superprix Historic race meeting at Brands Hatch over the weekend. Cars and people were very thin on the ground- everyone else was probably at Goodwood instead! There was some very good racing however, just a few random for you to enjoy(hopefully!) Chris. A lovely Mustang roadcar! This picture has its own title already. This car is a Marcos Mantis. Not my favourite type of Marcos........... Lovely looking Rolls Royce,Silver Ghost S111. A nice MG, is it an SA? YA? I'm not actually sure. AC Ace. I did make it into the paddock with my contractors lanyard. A Formula Ford Lotus 61,not sure what year,1968 or 9? Chris.

Hi, some pictures here of a 'normal' Mustang spotted today in the Brands Hatch paddock, hope they help someone in any small way. Also I couldn't resist the Alan Mann Mustang,it looks brand new still! Chris.
-
That's just awful! They've even cribbed the old Elva colour scheme, its horrible. I'm off to the the Goodwood leftovers at the Brands Hatch Superprix today, historic racing cars. About 9 races today but apparently the public still have no access to the paddock, which is normally the best bit. Chris.

I've made all the Marsh Models ones, there was a 1/24 resin kit made by Mini Exotics- one passed through my hands,Its one model I wished I'd kept for myself! Chris. Lovely pictures there.
-
It's the Cheetah for me too, does this car live in England? Would love a 1/24 kit as well.....Chris.

You’ve made a beautiful model of a beautiful car! Chris.

Vickers Viking,the F resin 1/144 one.
Kitkent replied to Kitkent's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
Thank you to Wulfman,Steve,Kenny? And Dave G for all the positives! I realise after I posted about the name when I saw the box again in the recycling bin! I'm used to mostly resin and white metal kits so not averse to anything short run but plastic kits still scare me a bit......I've made 3 or 4 1/144 kits and this is the very first airliner I've built ever. Chris. -
This is my first RFI in the aircraft section,so I hope it comes out as ok! I always wanted a Vickers Viking kit ever since I had the Dinky toy diecast years and years ago. This is the recent F Resin kit which I found a bit rough round the edges to be honest, but cleans up just fine, the only real problem being the thinnest decals ever made,I cut the long fuselage decals in two for instance. The other little model is the Eduard Spitfire, just to compare sizes! I'm a car modeller so hope you like this little one! Chris.

I saw this as well,a nice Mini on the cover which is quite striking. Not sure whether I will buy it or not. There was also another brand new classic car mag.in WHS an 'upmarket ' one - the name escapes me now! Chris.

Matchbox Porsche 917/10 1/32 scale....
Kitkent replied to Allan31's topic in Ready For Inspection - Vehicles
That's really very nice! With Indycals to the rescue too. A bit of an odd scale,I fought against 1/43 at first but I soon realised that 1/32 doesn't cover everything ever made like 1/43 does. And I love Porsche race Cars! Chris. -
It's coming along really nicely now, looking very good! Chris.

Camel Lotus F1+ Camel F3000 Reynard,in 1/43
Kitkent replied to Kitkent's topic in Ready For Inspection - Vehicles
I loved F3000,I used to get someone I worked with to video the races for me before I was forced to get my own Sky dish. Here's a kit I re discovered in my stash today too. Chris. -
1/43 Chaparral 2F, Brands Hatch 1967
Kitkent replied to klubman01's topic in Ready For Inspection - Vehicles
It's really really good Trevor, the dzus fasteners are a great idea too. I didn't go to this race but I definitely went the following year! And you're keeping the 1/43 end up too.Chris. -
Camel Lotus F1+ Camel F3000 Reynard,in 1/43
Kitkent replied to Kitkent's topic in Ready For Inspection - Vehicles
Thanks for your comments Keith and Trevor,I have another one of the F300 Reynard kits with Q8 decals. They did a Purple Cadburys sponsored car too if you like chocolate! Onwards and upwards through the stash still....Chris. -
I'm having a bit of a rearrange in the model room,so thought I would just show these 2 Camel cars. The smaller one no.4 is a Tameo kit of the Reynard F3000 car run by Eddie Jordan in 1989,the driver being Jean Alesi. I recently found a nice base signed by Jean Alesi,so this is the first pic. The other one is a Meri kits Lotus 101 Camel sponsored F1 car also from 1989,driven by Nelson Piquet . Both are 1/43 white metal kits by the way. And Ayrton Senna looks on! F3000 was a great series, now it's called F2. Hope everyone likes them,Chris.

Fujimi 1/24 Ford GT40 MkII - '66 Le Mans
Kitkent replied to AliGauld's topic in Ready For Inspection - Vehicles
Looks like the real thing! The moral winner of Le Mans 1966,everyone should go and see the film, nice to see this one built. Chris. -
A very nice and rare I should think- Citroen SM Maserati,in as new condition. This is outside the Cotswold Motor Museum,Bourton on the water. Chris. Citreon by the water......
-
I've also used them quite a bit mainly at shows like Race Retro the historic racing car show and they were also at Telford when I last saw them.Lots of useful decals etc. I'm sure they have an eBay presence as well.Chris.
-
Very nice model! The 70’s were certainly interesting for F1 cars. Chris

I realise about the Greater London boroughs etc. But I just find it lazy and misleading journalism,we do still have counties in my mind they haven't completely disappeared yet! Either Boris or Sadiq Khan wanted the Greater London area to extend I think to the coast, including the whole of Kent and Essex. I now live in Gravesend after moving from Orpington,so I lost my free rail travel in the London area- it stops at Dartford. Chris
-
I don't think this particular gripe Is on here but what really gets me going is when newspapers describe somewhere as say Heathrow Airport West London, when its in Middlesex! Yes it is West OF London,It's just so lazy it's nowhere near Marble Arch which is in London. They do this all around the South East area. There's one today where someone was attacked in the street,it's Southall in Middlesex so they decide to call it the suburban district of Southall in Ealing West London! Grrr........Chris.

Just a beautiful model! Chris. -
What CAR/BIKE kits have you recently bought 2?
Kitkent replied to shood23's topic in Vehicle Discussion
Ok,I know this isn't a kit but its Automobilia and it still needs a full respray etc. A heavy metal Michelin man that I picked up in Greenwich market,London yesterday. The Red Bull F1 car is a full 1/43 decal conversion that is almost finished as raced in the Monaco GP 2005- just for a size comparison. A bit scabby but he might look a bit nicer when I've finished with him! Chris.
