Tilly Masterson's '64 Convertible +++ Finished +++
Kitkent replied to CliffB's topic in Ford Mustang STGB
Looking good! I too was unaware of this kit, though I do remember making their same sscale Ferrari, and not very well. Just an idea for painting,I can recommend using a pink spray primer first, then a white primer to cover the pink. Good luck,Chris. -
An update at last before my build falls off the first page! Have not had much time for modelling lately for several reasons, one of them being that my boy has moved back in till he can afford his own place, but on top of that he now has a new puppy! It's like having a baby again....Anyway I have now sprayed the body with Tamiya white primer and Halfords Appliance white.i have glued on the small p.e. rear spoiler lip. It now needs to be masked off at the back to match the blue decal,it merges in at the rear. The interior and base has quite a lot of detail, that's been started and I used the very nice Tamiya TS 83 Metallic silver,I'm impressed with this stuff, but it's £13 a tin! Then the rest is brush painted Tamiya NATO black and a Matt black. The seat is separate, the photo isn't very good as it's been taken with my phone,so may have found its limits I think- the seat only measures less than half an inch at the base. Chris.

Phew! Im glad it worked out ok,you had the base clear coat already and have just filled in the gaps....good luck- Chris.

1/43 Heller 2 CV. JR's first ever vehicle build.
Kitkent replied to jean's topic in Ready For Inspection - Vehicles
It think it looks really good especially for a first 1/43. The grey is very realistic, and so is the car being slightly scuffed up If i may say so! Windows are always a pain in 1/43rd. Chris.- 10 replies

I would spray again once or twice, this has happened to me several times. The weathers getting warmer now and drier which should help. Chris.

Condolences and well done with the award,Its a very very good build! Never heard of Model Space and I just had a quick look.someone commented about it being nice to see an F1 kit on there and I agree. Got something else to look at now! .Would love a 1/24 kit of this car.... Chris.

Agree about it looking right,I like the tyre weathering. Chris. -
It does look very smart as is, but a respray and the blue added would be a vast improvement. Chris.

Lancia Delta S4 - 1/24 - Beemax + detail set
Kitkent replied to bradeq's topic in Work In Progress - Vehicles
Off to an excellent start,I'm sure a lot of this is your extras,on top of the detail set. Chris. -
Lovely model! It's nice to see an injection kit of these lesser known cars,I.e. it's not a Martini car! I also normally go to Le Mans every year, but have lost track of this year- the last I heard was that it supposed to be in August but a couple of weeks ago the A.C.O apparently hadn't printed any programmes, tickets etc.or booked any trades people. Chris.

Brilliant stuff Trevor! I didn't know the Axel R kit was so inaccurate, there's a hell of a lot work to correct there, with a unique result. The Chevron B8 normally only had a 1.6 or 2 litre Ford/BMW Motor so a V8 Repco would definitely need more room! The blue colour and all the details are spot on,Chris.

McLaren F1 GTR #21R Helsinki thunder '97
Kitkent replied to Kiertomäntä's topic in Ready For Inspection - Vehicles
That's just fabulous! You can tell a lot of time has been spent here. I saw a lot of races with these cars,Le Mans,Brands Hatch,Silverstone,Donington. But not Helsinki! Beautiful.Chris. -
I see you've gone for Hertz rent a car yellow?! Both your cars look very smart,I'm impressed with both the paint jobs. Chris.

Ha ha! The IMSA series is still going, very similar to the Le Mans series but it can be watched on You tube. I love sportscar racing and this is a quality resin kit so I would like to see it finished myself! Sapphire made a series of BMW M1 racers,I've shown some of them and still have a few more lurking around. Chris.

Just a small update, first thing to do is prepare the body which wasn't too difficult. Remove all the rough parts and sand down the edges, the window frames are the worst as they can be quite delicate. It now has the primer coat, next will be Appliance white all over, then I have to mask and spray the rear end to match the blue of the decals. I forgot to add a small piece of photo etch on the boot lid,a slight lip or gurney flap if you like. I get the idea of a group build now,you have to actually build something, not just talk about it! Chris.

Looking very smart so far Andy, says Chris who is also impressed with the fanbelt decals and the fact that you went to the G.P! Chris.

Supermarine S.5 Scratchbuild in 1/144
Kitkent replied to Putty Animal's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
That's a real stunner! Quite like 1/144 and this is just about the best I've seen. Chris. -
Nice vote of confidence there Spiny! Thanks. Is Proline RC an English company? The Proline models that made this kit was,not sure about now,was a Peter Wingfeild from Florida a professional model builder. But the kit was made for him by Sapphire Modelcraft of England. Chris.

Hi,I'm definitely the odd boy out here among all the 1/24 Mustangs which I'm looking forward to seeing. I've had this kit about 20 years I reckon, but it's a very decent kit. Below are several photos, one is the advert for this kit in the U.S. now defunct magazine Motor Racing Replica news. Right,I suppose I'd better get on with it now! Chris.

Agree about the F Ford Lotus,Its an attractive car I think it said Jim Russell on its side. I collect Lotus racecars, this is one I haven't got just yet though. Chris.

A lovely model, and the weathering looks great to me. I've got 3 in the stash I think! Chris. -
Which of these modelling traits do we share?
Kitkent replied to galaxyg's topic in Vehicle Discussion
Having a drawer of doom, full of about 15- 20 half done kits. All of them are fabulous of course! Then build and complete something I bought last month totally ignoring said draw of doom........ Fondling a new kit then putting it away for who knows how long. Already listed I know, and looking up reference material and shoving that back as well..Chris. -
