  1. Looking better every day. Great work, great car. Trevor
  2. Nice model. Great to see a different colour scheme from usual. Well done.
  3. I'm fairly certain that passenger seats were fitted at the time - homologation requirement. It was much smaller than the driver's seat, though. In this picture you can just see the passenger seat beyond the driver's seat. Hope that helps. Trevor
  4. Nice work, well done. Your attention to the small but important details sets it apart from an OOB build. Michael Oliver's book is excellent, I agree. And it's a great read, not just dry facts. Trevor
  5. Welcome aboard! Trevor
  6. Looking good thus far. The 49, and all the variants, were great cars. I saw them race at the '68 Grand prix at Brands Hatch. Good luck with the project. Trevor
  7. That looks good! Love the colour scheme - suitably "in your face" for a 911 Carrera. Trevor
  8. That has turned out really nice. Love the gold Minilite wheels. Trevor
  9. The Audi Quattro. What a fearsome beast! I will follow this build with a great deal of interest. Trevor
  10. Welcome aboard. The Ascension Island project sounds grand. Wideawake was, as I'm sure you know, the busiest airfield in the world for that short period. I flew in and out of there many times during my tours on C-130s. And then much later when on the Tristar fleet. The airfield changed beyond recognition over that time. Looking forward to seeing the results of your endeavours! Trevor
  11. Just had a look at them. Very nice. More Can-Am cars, and Chaparrals, in due course. Trevor
  12. A nice pair of models! I remember building the 2D when I was a youngster. Not as good as yours, needless to say! Trevor
  13. I have one kit by Custom FX. It's the 1/43 scale Mirage M6 Coupe as seen at the Le Mans test weekend in 1973. The resin castings have a fair amount of flash and will need a bit of work to clean up, but otherwise seem OK. The vac-formed transparencies are thin and clear. There were no decals included in the kit, but I have purchased the appropriate set from Le Mans Decals. The kit bears a strong resemblance to the old, discontinued, Esdo kit Overall, it's OK and should build into a decent model with a bit of work. Hope this helps. Trevor
  14. I usually wait a week before tackling any polishing. Have you tried Detail Master polishing cloths. They start at 2400 grit, with 12000 grit as the finest. I have found them to be very good but, again, you have to beware of raised details.
  15. Another tour-de-force! Well done. Trevor
  16. Very neat little replica. Great work, well done.
  17. Nice work. The wheels and tyres look the business. Trevor
  18. Many thanks to all for the appreciative comments. Jim Hall created some fabulous cars but never had quite the success I feel that he deserved. The fact that they are so memorable says so much about them. More "white birds" in due course. Trevor
