  1. This is my model of the Lola T70GT entered by Sid Taylor Racing for the 1967 BOAC 500 race at Brands Hatch, and driven by Jack Brabham and Denny Hulme. It started from pole position, but retired with clutch problems. It is the Automodelli Studio (ex Marsh Models) resin and metal kit. It was a reasonably straight forward build, but I added a few extra details. I substituted the seat harness with Racing 43 and Renaissance parts, scratch built the small extinguisher in the cockpit, and added the mesh covers over the carburettors. These were made with frames of rose wire and surplus mesh from a finished Marsh Can-Am Lola. The body was airbrushed with Revell 04 white, the rest being Humbrol enamels. I replaced the kit's green stripes with equivalent decals from Fantasy Printshop, and the race numbers came from an old Tenariv decal sheet. Trevor
  2. A nice Le Mans collection Chris. The Ferrari looks like a BBR kit? Love the De Cadenet. I have the JPS kits of the 1972 Duckhams-Ford, and the 1978 De Cadenet Lola waiting to be built. If anyone sums up the spirit of Brits at Le Mans, it is Alain De Cadenet. I think his 3rd place finish in '78 was his best result. The Rothmans 961 looks good to me, as do all the others. Trevor

    Hi!!

    Welcome aboard. Trevor
  4. Great to see a "different" scheme for a Scooter. Nice work, especially the decals. Trevor
  5. Just seen a very tidy, white, L Reg Triumph Stag driving through Sleaford.
  6. Wow, that is bonkers for a book. I have seen cheaper copies advertised, but still expensive. £250, also on Amazon. Trevor
  7. Nice! I didn't know it had a rear wiper until today. Trevor
  8. All very nice. Great effort with the Nissan to recover from decal disaster. Trevor
  9. At around midday on the M11 northbound, just south of Stansted, a faded and scuffed green single decker bus on a low loader. Pre '63 Kent registration, and just discernible on the side was the Maidstone & District bus company signage.
  10. This morning, at Cambridge Services on the A14, a red, V reg Ford Capri 3.0S. Absolutely immaculate, and sounded nice as well. A bit later, as I drove past Duxford, a Hawker Hurricane being flown in a very spirited manner!
  11. An imaginative set of external stores, all feasible, but not at the same time! Trevor
  12. That is really nice. Looks very much like building the real thing. Top job, well done. Trevor
  13. Nice, especially the 908/3, which is from 1970, by the way. It's the Siffert/Redman car from the Nurburgring 1000 kms. I have a couple of Marsh 908/3 kits yet to be built. Hope they look as good as yours. Trevor
  14. Ooh, nice. What's not to like about Lancia rally cars, or models by Racing 43. Looking forward to seeing your Martini Integrale. Such a fabulous car. Back in '77, as part of Aylesbury Motor Club, I marshalled on a stage of the RAC Rally. The Stratoses (Strati?) were amazing. Trevor
  15. Two on each wing, one each side of the wing fold, plus the stores locations inside the rotating bomb bay. Could it be that the two extra hardpoints were, in fact, the wide band homer fairings, which were located on the leading edge, towards the wings tips? Trevor
  16. Blimey, that looks bonkers, but is probably also an enormous amount of fun! Trevor
  17. Saw a nice, tidy looking, red and white Clubman1275GT in Sleaford today. We got a wave, as myself and "senior management" were in her purple Mini (a proper one, not one of the misnamed BMW's).
  18. Nice one Chris. Renaissance kits, I agree, are a bit over-engineered, but their range of accessories are great. Trevor
  19. Wow, that looks nice. Not seen one of them for longer than I can remember. Trevor
  20. Nicely done. Always good to see some more 1/43 stuff. Keep them coming. Trevor
  21. Two nice vehicles today. A red MGB roadster on the A17 Sleaford bypass around mid-morning, and then, around lunchtime, an old (pre 1963, judging by the plate) SWB Land Rover heading into Sleaford, passing the Police station. Both looked quite tidy. Trevor
  22. Another beautifully finished GpC racer! I grew up near Brands Hatch, and started going to the races in 1965. Always enjoyed the big sports car events. Such noise and fury! Trevor
