  1. Have to agree with Jeroen. Great skills on display. I'm thinking that "truck exhaust systems" is a fairly niche search request! Trevor
  2. If you can find it it, look out for the Testors version of Italeri's A-4M kit (Testors kit number 271). It may get re-released amidst the hype for the new film. It includes a decal sheet by ScaleMaster with markings for the Jester A-4E from the original film (plus markings for the final A-4M built when operated by VX-5). Granted, the decals aren't applicable to an A-4M, but I used them on an Esci kit and they were accurate and well printed. I'll try and find a photo of the finished model. Trevor
  3. GPM have, as Keith says, been going for ages. They are my primary source for the detail parts on my 1/43 models. Trevor
  4. That is a beautifully finished model of what appears to be a fearsome machine. No wonder it's called BULLDOG. Not exactly the work of a moment to get it running, is it? Trevor
  5. Well, that's different from your usual, immaculate, trucks! Very nice, and suitably "used" in appearance. Bravo. Trevor
  6. Tameo produce some nice mesh that might be suitable - Art. PG23 in their range. They specialise in 1/43, so the mesh may be a bit fine for your needs, but there might be other manufacturers with something suitable. Great work on the model, BTW. Trevor
  7. Well ,that is very different (and very shiny) compared to your usual models. Looks wonderful. Trevor
  8. That looks utterly brilliant! And you are building at a phenomenal pace - far quicker than I ever do. Another masterpiece nearly complete. Trevor
  9. It's a Lotus 69, which was an F2/F3 racer. Don't recall ever seeing them in GLTL colours with a Twin Cam in the back. Trevor
  10. Spotted this afternoon, heading north, just as the A1M transitions to A1, a white, E reg, Sunbeam Stiletto (or it could have been the Sunbeam Imp equivalent - the Californian?). Looked very tidy indeed. Trevor
  11. Thanks very much indeed. Coming from you, I'll take that as the ultimate compliment. Trevor
  12. Thanks very much. I'm so used to working in 1/43 that I don't really think about it. The main attraction for me is the huge range of models that is available. Added to which, there are so many aftermarket parts available to enhance even the most basic kit (and some of them are really basic, believe me). Trevor
  13. Thanks Chris. The rims are gold coloured turned metal, but the central spoked parts are injection moulded plastic and need to be painted. Trevor
  14. Thanks very much. The wheels and tyres are aftermarket items by Remember. Trevor
  15. Thanks guys, your comments are much appreciated. Trevor
  16. The Hostaro kits are much nicer than DAM or FDS. Looking forward to seeing your 512S, especially as I saw it race in the BOAC 1000. Trevor Thanks very much. Good luck with your model. Trevor
  17. I completed this a couple of years ago. I started with the DAM kit but quickly realised it wasn't particularly accurate - it looked though it had been squashed. I then found another 512S kit by FDS. This had the later style of rear bodywork, so I made modifications to accept the slatted rear window in place of the clear version. Also carried over from the DAM kit were the mirrors. I scratch built the large cooling intake on the right hand side, and the smaller intake on the left. The clear cover over the cockpit vents was vac-formed from a master carved from Milliput filler. The photo-etched brass in the kit was thick, and tough to cut, so the trailing edge parts of the rear spoilers, and the vents over the rear wheels were cut from plastic card. Wheels and tyres are by Remember. The decals with the DAM kit disintegrated on contact with water (despite a good coating of decal film) so I had a rummage amongst my decal bank to find suitable substitutes. This was the winning car at the 1970 Sebring 12 hour race, only overtaking the Steve McQueen/Pete Revson Porsche 908 Spyder after Mario Andretti (whose car had retired with gearbox problems) was transferred to the Giunti/Vaccarella car in the final hour of the race. Thanks for looking. Trevor
  18. That is a really impressive model. Fabulous workmanship. Well done. Trevor
  19. Yesterday I was at the Sandringham Pageant of Motoring. A huge gathering of classic vehicles in the grounds of the Royal estate. Amongst the many unusual cars, I spotted these particular rarities; An Edsel. Never seen one of these mythical cars before. And a Saab Sonnet Trevor
  20. Have a look at the SylCreate website. SylCreate | Model Making, Resin Casting, Craft, Art & Restoration Products They have a tutorial, with videos, on casting with resin. (I'm having difficulty with the link.) I've used their resin kit to make copies of parts for my models, but nothing as large 1.8 scale. Trevor
