  1. Cheers Ed. When it comes to the G, I am spoiled for choice but the Miniart ones are looking strong contenders to be my choice. They look superb.👍
  2. Thanks mate. Very interesting photo.👍 Just downloaded a copy from Pocketmags and there's also a great photo of a Panzer 4 H with its schurzen covered in zimmerit. What I was desperately looking for the other day.
  3. Ooh, sounds interesting Darryl. If you ever get a chance to post them up...... (copyright allowing).👍
  4. The early Stugs seem to be limited to grey so some different painting techniques could be worth a go. Going to have to check that one out.👍
  5. It was far too tempting to let sit gathering dust Alan. I've got plenty of others to do that.😀👍
  6. So I spent a few hours on the base. As LM said this is flat-pack rather than a tub, but it fits really well. You just need to be dextrous enough to hold it together while gluing though. Typical Miniart with minute parts, which the carpet monster nearly got, but they also all fit well. The plastic is soft so watch the knife work.😳 This prototype had eight wheels and a complex suspension system. Looking quickly at drawings of the A this soon got changed.
  7. Happy to have you aboard Ed and Stix. 👍
  8. It's a good piece of graphic design work. Maybe the Germans should have focused their energies on that.😉 It also highlights the uneven approach to some zimmerit. Atak and others tend to make it too nice and neat. Good photo.👍
  9. Stug.III O Series by Miniart. While I wait for a top coat to finish on the Sturmtiger I thought I'd open up the box and see how far I'd get tonight. Firstly here's the obligatory sprue shot. It's Miniart so there are plenty of sprues. Nice looking, detailed and clean.
  10. Just had a look and a very nice job indeed. A shame they've stalled for now but you've done a lot. The kits look very good so I will give the Dragon A a go.👍
  11. The A is by Dragon but there is a modern one that is hard to get or an old one from 97. Dragon kits haven't dated badly have they?
  12. I will follow along as we were just talking about what can be done with old Tamiya kits. All the best in your build.👍
  13. State of the art kit then I assume. I made their Stug IV and, although a bit clunky, was a fun one to build. And for the price you can't complain.
  14. There is a tendency to over engineer their kits but they build into great models and as a company they are more than happy to try out the unusual. I'm looking forward to the Bronco as I haven't done one of theirs before.
  15. After picking up the Miniart O Series Stug, and being influenced by Bertie's Valentine thread, I thought I'd start a long running thread making up the different variants of the legendary vehicle. Most are available to modelmakers, although A is hard to get, so it is an achievable aim, but will take a few years to complete as I will dip in and out. Any tips on books, kits, after market etc. very welcome indeed. Here's what I have so far. Picked up the Bronco kit this morning and finally got the Stug book from The Works on the cheap. It seems to be a very popular one. And the Achtung Panzer is one of the only books I kept from my stash 20 years ago. (Moving house once too often lead me to get rid of a load of old, heavy, books.)
  16. A superb model Fabio. The painting is first class and the camo is top notch, slightly faded and blending into the DG. Excellent.👏👏 (I saw a second hand one of this very kit this morning and I'm now gutted I didn't buy it.)
  17. This popped up and maybe of use to some of the interior builders. There's a link that will take you to the full diagram.
  18. The Volvo digger I had to do a double take.👍 Great work Tiking. The highly damaged tyres are especially good.
  19. Can only agree with the others. A marvellous piece of modelling. Nice one Tom.👏
  20. It was love at first sight for me. Gorgeous looking bike and livery. The kit being state of the art I will not bother with the extra expense of metal forks. Seems far too much extra expense for something I enjoy painting anyway. 👍
  21. I was very tempted by the new, large, Airfix Spit. One day I may join in up here.....😀
  22. Just caught up with your Spit. Marvellous looking model, painting and weathering very impressive. Nice work and it looks like you've caught the plane bug.👍👏
