  1. New advances, a lot of little details that I can't mention here because the list is so long, the kind of thing that you don't notice but that makes the difference in the visual and precision effect. I'm in the rigging. Particularly the hoists for the cargo masts, which are very difficult to do with stretched plastic. It's very fragile during assembly. I still have one set of hoists to make. I made a printer assembly to make it easier to make the hoists. I've also continued with the ageing of the ship, which I haven't finished; there's still the starboard antifouling to finish.
  2. You can still find them: https://www.barondurail.com/17846-heller-85050.html https://heller.fr/en/85050-la-seine-la-saone-twinset-1000850500 This one has recently been reissued, and it's not the only one. The injection moulds have been restored, I believe. It was no longer available https://www.heller.fr/en/81092-task-force-ravitaillement-a-la-mer-1000810920 Unfortunately, this is often the case with Heller
  3. Fictional US harbor dio. 1/700. by Kostas Katseas.

  5. Okay, you must be talking about this type of torpedo boat: Here the #144, sink near Toulon: https://www-plongee--infos-com.translate.goog/chaque-jour-une-epave-17-decembre-le-torpilleur-134/?_x_tr_sl=fr&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=fr&_x_tr_pto=wapp 144. In the list of plan, look at the « Corsaire ». Never really put into service in the French navy, too badly designed, a failure...
  6. My favorite diorama: IJN Mikasa visiting a Shinto shrine, 1/200:
  7. There is... 😜 Torpedo boat "Durandal" - 1899. You'll find all the plans you need here, including hull, weapons, accessories and more: HD plans: Durandal / Hallebarde http://dreadnoughtproject.org/French Warship Plans/Durandal_EtAl_1899/ And lot more ships: Complete list: http://dreadnoughtproject.org/French Warship Plans/

We had plenty to answer for on the other side of the Channel... 😂
  9. I've installed a good part of the standing rigging, leaving the cargo masts to be fitted and rigged after the weathering that's underway, an operation that's always tricky. Always start with the side that won't be exposed. Much of the standing rigging is in place.
  10. It's the same ship. it has been transformed into a dredger. 11. Kostas Katseas is an internationally-renowned model-maker who frequently graces us with new, often breathtakingly realistic dioramas. https://www.facebook.com/KostasShipModels/ Here are a few of his recent creations, full of lessons for us all: A new 1/144 diorama, quite exceptional even if it doesn't really convey historical reality in detail. "HMCS Ville de Québec was indeed a Flower class ship, but its pennant was K242." We also recall the exploit of the corvette Aconit led by French sailors of the Free French Forces in 1943: On March 11, 1943, the Aconit rammed the U-444 in the middle of the night. In the morning, the corvette attacked the U-432 with cannon fire and finished it off by ramming it from the bow, thus sinking two German submarines on the same day, the only two submarines sunk in this naval battle (convoy HX 228). https://www-france--libre-net.translate.goog/il-y-a-80-ans-laconit-coulait-deux-sous-marins-allemands/?_x_tr_sl=ru&_x_tr_tl=fr&_x_tr_hl=fr&_x_tr_pto=wapp More photos here : http://www.modelshipgallery.com/gallery/dio/hms/FlowervUboat-72-kk/index.htm _____________________________________ His latest achievement of 2024: 1/700 Takom ABSD-1 with USS Missouri More here: http://www.modelshipgallery.com/gallery/dio/dockyard/Drydock-700-kk/index.htm Inspiration? 12. Thanks Guys! The tarpaulins (green canvas) are made with OCB cigarette paper... To consume without moderation in this case... Tarpaulin: (Marine) Flexible sailcloth strips, sewn together and then tarred, used to cover hatch covers and prevent water from entering a ship's hold. "OCB N°4 is a pure linen, chlorine-free short rolling paper. " "OCB, short for Odet-Cascadec-Bolloré, is a French rolling paper brand founded in 1918 in Ergué-Gabéric near Quimper in Brittany, France. It was owned by the Bolloré Group until July 2000, when the French company Republic Technologies International, a subsidiary of Republic Tobacco, took over the brand."
  13. Thank you all for your vital encouragement and motivation. Progress in painting and assembly.
  14. Tks all! It's a request from my friend Roland for his copy, no aging, no open hatches, cargo masts at sea station, no figures, no welding lines. More of an institutional-style model, a model of a shipping company office of sorts.
  15. Tks Stuart, all. The progress I've made over the last few days means I'm concentrating on one of the 2 models at the moment, to avoid repeating possible mistakes on the second one in terms of assembly, gluing and painting. It's becoming a real ship, but there's still a lot of work to do. Here the hull is gray, the photo is not really dated. The plates that make up a bilge panel are marked in rows, so there must have been a problem with different plate lengths.
  16. Thanks! Here's the progress of the assembly, nothing's glued, I'm really waiting until the last moment to do it step by step. I've painted the funnel, so that's all there is to it. The poop deck is going to be reshaped with hot water so that it fits perfectly for gluing, a common practice with resin, especially on this type of deck part which tends to warp after printing, nothing serious. The blue of the hulls is shiny for the moment, but will be covered with a matte varnish later, as will the whole set, to homogenize after aging for one of the two. There's still a lot of painting and assembly work to be done. My method of masking the bulwark.
  17. Tks Steve! I twisted my brains for hours trying to figure out how to put it all together.. before I started. Fortunately, it works well. 😅
  18. Painting the hull is nearing completion. Masking was tricky because of the different colours, 4 in total.
  19. Thanks folks, best wishes for 2024. It's fun to assemble and paint, lots of colors. Nothing's glued yet. Just for your viewing pleasure this evening.
  20. Some progress on masking and painting. I also put the second coat of blue on one of the hulls, and the first on the other.
