  1. Very nice Halifax! Always liked the shape of this bomber, even though the Lancaster is more famous.
  2. Thanks! I just used different shades of metallic Vallejo acrylics. And some polished metal pigment from MiG Ammo. Just apply with soft cloth and rub it in..
  3. Very nice Vigi! Love that aircraft, although I never saw them in real life...
  4. I remember that time when all these ex Gulf War birds were in the static displays all over Europe, Tornados, Buccs, Jaguars, Chinooks.. your model brings back good memories, and the build is flawless. Kind regards, Gerben
  5. Just make sure the model is molded in a dark colour, if not, use a dark primer 🙂
  6. I echo that too. Fantastic result especially with the panel lines, and great choice of scheme with the transition between SEA and low viz markings I love SEA and the wraparound looks the best imo, and it means less masking 😀. thanx for the compliments!
  7. That's a good story! Curious about her name.. and thanx for the kind words!
  8. That looks very convincing! Great job! Kind regards, Gerben
  9. This is my Monogram Phantom in 1/48 scale. It took me quite some time to finish. Especially the intakes took quite some filling and sanding. It's more or less OOB, but I used a decal sheet from Caracal (ANG Phantoms) and an an-alq119 from the Italeri RF-4E kit. Paints I used were mainly Vallejo and Mig Ammo acrylics. Some oils for washing and weathering. When kit has raised panellines I use nail buffers to remove the paint from the panellines. O, and I added some RBF tags from Eduard and scratchbuilt rear-view mirrors and some other stuff for the cockpit. Hope you like my Spook.. Kind regards, Gerben
  10. Absolutely stunning! Particularly like that silky red finish. Kind regards, Gerben
  11. That's a marvellous model! I love the cockpit especially, but the rest is very good as well...
  12. Did you ever move to another house since 1969? Wonderful story, and well done!
  13. Very nice. I remember these jets from the airshows in the 80's and 90's well and your model looks exactly right. Regards, Gerben
  14. Wonderful subject and a very nice build! Kind regards, Gerben
  15. Remember the BT Eagles well.. even spent a day at the fence there in the eighties.. Wonderful build! How is the academy kit? Kind regards, Gerben
  16. These are some pics of the Airfix Hurricane Mk.I Trop. I built this one together with my daughter, whose favourite WW2 fighter is the Hurricane, since we visited Old Warden in May 2019.. I think the Hurricane looks more impressive with 4 cannon, so I bought some Master cannon to make it look like a MK.IIC. Actually, the topside of the wing would have to be changed as well, but I decided to let that be... The markings are form Xtradecal set X48149, a Hurricane MK.IIC of 1 sqn, SAAF, September 1942. For painting I used Vallejo Acrylics, mainly dark earth, middle stone and azure blue. Hope you like the pics. Gerben
