  3. I know, the bit Airfix missed was the change to the electrical system outlets on the upper fuselage (Hence the 'And' before)
  4. Nose, RWR on the fin and tail, increase the height of the fin tip and (missed by Airfix) convert the two electrical system outlets on the upper fuselage to a single one slightly further back. (They got that right on the SHAR). I think there is an additional mesh vent on the tail boom (first appeared on the GR1A) If Falklands, you need to add the bump under the nose too. There are a few antennae as well.

  6. Re the upper wing colour, this photo clearly shows it's a two tone finish and it may just have been the wing roots that were repainted
  7. I think it was in splinter camo, let me see if I can fins some images, but there are several of VF241 that suggest a two-tone upper wing

If you look at the enlarged photo you can see the original paint colour behind all the German text - this was quite common for captured aircraft One point to remember with VF241 is that it was captured before the end of the War, It's not one of the Air Min aircraft, it was already at Farnborugh in April 1945, and flew in July 1945. It's understandable that wartime rules (e.g. underside yellow) may have been applied
  9. re Black 10, this is the only photo I know after it had been re-painted in Allied markings (and yes, it is a tiny pic!)
  10. And even then, sometimes the dataplate says one thing as the aircraft was modified on the production line!
  11. An senior offices (e.g. Wing leaders) were allowed to use personal codes, which could look like squadron codes!
  12. Is it mottling or just bumps and dirt on the surface? It always looks pretty solid at the front. I've always thought the fin and the wing root to be in RAF green, but it looks like the wing still shows it's Luftwaffe colours further out. There is a rear view in (I think) Wings of the Luftwaffe too, but I don't have a good copy of that one. A difference in tone between the P/Roundel outline and the yellow underside could just be the anngle of relection, or different paint tins - I've seen it before on other RAF prototypes
  13. I'm gpoing to say any primer looks like possibly just on the leading edge of the fin - the control surfaces look like a darker metal when you see then at a different angle; Possibly the jet pipe but again I suspect just a different alloy

  15. Where did you see that? Good to see another issue of the 1/72 Spitfire IX - first they've done since the BFC issue in 2020, and I think 2019 was the last 'main' issue
  16. Ordered the mk ll boxing today, but there is a slight error in the colour scheme for the SEAC option. PR527 had white identification stripes on the tail plane and under the wings as well. Hard to tell from photos if it had them on the upper surfaces, if pushed I’d say no.. there were some nice photos posted on the RAF in Burma Facebook page last year.

  18. Having dug into my saved files, I'd saved a photo of an archive chip of PRU pink alongside a PRU blue one. I think it was on here, but not sure so I won't share it but it is a very light colour.
  19. Somewhere I have a note of the mix, which was one part red to 4 parts white if I recalll
  20. It is a colour, but I don't believe it was used on PR Xs - it was intended for low level use, and the PRX was a high altitude aircraft. I think it's a mis-interpretation of the fact that blue/greys often appear lighter in WW2 BW photos
  21. Useful timing, I have all four of their A9/A10 kits in the stash, with the A9 part built
